The Nets have reportedly agreed to send the 22nd overall pick to the Blazers for Eddie Gill and $3 million in cash.
The deal can’t be announced until Thursday. The Nets want to make the trade to free up salary-cap room. Gill’s contract isn’t guaranteed and he’d have to attempt to make the Nets as a reserve.

Bucks signed Eddie Gill, Alando Tucker, Orien Greene and Mustapha Farrakhan for training camp.
Greene worked out with the team earlier in the offseason, as did Tucker, while Gill was last in the NBA with the Bucks in 2009. It would be a major surprise to see any one of this foursome make the team.
  • BKN Point Guard
Darrell Armstrong sat out Tuesday’s win over the Celtics with a sprained left ankle.
It’s official - All three Nets’ point guards are now injured, leaving Eddie Gill to start at the 1. He had three points and zero assists, but the Nets are hoping to have Jason Kidd and Armstrong available on opening night, and Marcus Williams back shortly thereafter.
  • MIL Point Guard
Former NBA guard Eddie Gill will play with Utah’s Summer League team in the hopes of rekindling his NBA career.
A veteran of five NBA seasons, Gill toiled with Dynamo Moscow in Russia last year, averaging over 6 PPG in 16.1 MPG. With the Jazz in need of a veteran backup point guard behind Deron Williams, Gill could catch on, but his chances of earning enough PT to actually have fantasy value are nil.

The Nets signed point guard Eddie Gill on Friday.
With Darrell Armstrong likely out for a month and Marcus Williams still recovering from foot surgery, the Nets needed a backup for Jason Kidd for the short term.

The Nets’ requested waivers on backup guard Eddie Gill on Wednesday.
Gill played in 13 games this season, averaging 2.9 points 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He could resurface on another team’s roster, but won’t have any fantasy value this year.
  • DAL Head Coach #5
Jason Kidd is suffering from a migraine and is not likely to play against the Knicks on Wednesday.
He wasn’t even in the arena as of 6:30 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. game. In addition, Stephon Marbury will not play tonight due to the death of his father, according to Dave D’Alessandro’s blog for the Newark Star-Ledger. Get both players on your bench if you have that option and look for Eddie Gill to get a lot of run at PG for the Nets tonight. As for New York, some combination of Mardy Collins, Nate Robinson, Fred Jones and Jamal Crawford will man the point.
  • MIL Point Guard
Guard Eddie Gill is expected to participate in Nets’ training camp in hopes of making the team.
He played 13 games for the Nets last season and has an outside shot at making the team as a reserve, although it’s very unlikely he would crack the regular rotation.
  • MIL Point Guard
The Sonics opted not to re-sign guard Eddie Gill after his 10-day contract expired on Wednesday.
Gill played five minutes in one game for the Sonics, and never had any fantasy value.
  • MIL Point Guard
The Sonics signed journeyman guard Eddie Gill to a 10-day contract on Monday.
Gill spent time with the Nets earlier this season before being sent to the NBADL, where he put up big averages. The 29-year-old vet won’t have any fantasy value.
