  • IND Power Forward #1
Obi Toppin exited early on Friday with a left ankle sprain but still finished with 10 points (4-of-8 FGs), two rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block against the Cavaliers.
Toppin dealt with a sprain in the same ankle last month, though it didn’t force him to miss any time. In fact, he still hasn’t missed a game all season. Before exiting early in this one, he still posted a full line and was one of eight Pacers to score in double figures. If he is forced to miss a game for the first time this season on Sunday, Doug McDermott will likely soak up his minutes and could continue to fill his role if he misses time during the playoffs.
  • IND Small Forward #23
Aaron Nesmith (bruised right knee) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Clippers.
Nesmith was initially questionable for Monday’s game, the second in as many nights for the Pacers. Obi Toppin, Ben Sheppard, and Doug McDermott are all available to absorb some of the minutes that would have gone to Nesmith. Of the three, Toppin offers the highest potential regarding fantasy production.
  • IND Power Forward #1
Obi Toppin (left ankle sprain) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Warriors.
Toppin only played 15 minutes in Wednesday’s win over Detroit, and he is now on the injury report with a sprained ankle. Should he be ruled out, Jarace Walker would be in line for additional minutes, but the rookie is not worth streaming. Doug McDermott can also absorb some of the minutes that would go to Toppin, slightly increasing his fantasy value.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott (right calf strain) will make his return to the lineup against Detroit on Wednesday.
McDermott will suit up for the first time since February 26th, and he should see a small role off the bench. That will cut into the minutes that Ben Sheppard and Obi Toppin have been playing, but it shouldn’t make much of a fantasy impact.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott (right calf strain) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against Detroit.
McDermott last appeared in a game on February 26, with Monday’s loss to the Cavaliers being his tenth on the shelf. Should the Pacers clear him to play on Wednesday, that would result in fewer minutes for Ben Sheppard. This would not impact most fantasy leagues.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott is out for Monday’s matchup with Cleveland due to a right calf strain.
McDermott’s absence won’t have a meaningful impact on fantasy hoops, but it could mean a few more minutes for the likes of Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott (right calf strain) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Nets.
While it was reported that McDermott, who practiced on Friday, is getting close to a return, he isn’t ready yet. Saturday’s game will be the ninth he’s missed, which means more playing time for Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker. The former is worth a look in deep leagues, while the Pacers are limited at the forward spots.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott practiced on Friday and is “getting close” to a return.
McDermott has missed their last eight games, but afater practicing on Friday, there is a chance that he plays on Saturday against the Nets. Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker have seen the majority of the backup power forward minutes, but McDermott will take on a few of those when he returns.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott (right calf strain) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s matchup with Chicago.
This will be an eighth straight absence for McDermott, as he hasn’t suited up since February 26th. He has played a minor role off the bench when available, but in his absence, Obi Toppin has filled the majority of the reserve power forward minutes, with Jarace Walker sprinkling in a few minutes as well.
  • IND Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott (right calf strain) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Thunder.
McDermott will miss his seventh straight game due to a strained calf. With Bennedict Mathurin (shoulder) done for the season, Obi Toppin has benefitted the most regarding playing time and is worth rostering in deep leagues. Jarace Walker has entered the rotation but doesn’t offer enough to merit being streamed.
