Trey Lyles (right calf injury) will not return to Monday’s game against the Thunder.
Lyles played six minutes before the calf injury forced his exit. The Kings did not add anyone to the rotation in the first half, but there may be a few minutes available for Doug McDermott in the second. He would not be worth streaming if Lyles misses time.
  • SAC Center #25
The Kings will start De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Keegan Murray, Trey Lyles and Alex Len against Atlanta on Monday.
In order to combat Clint Capela, Mike Brown will swap Len in to replace Doug McDermott, who got the start in place of Domantas Sabonis in their last game. With both Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan sidelined, Lyles will get another start as well.
  • SAC Power Forward #11
Domantas Sabonis (lower back tightness) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Hawks.
Sabonis appears likely to miss a second straight game, a concerning development since the first (Saturday vs. Utah) was the second of a back-to-back. Sacramento went small on Saturday, starting Trey Lyles and Doug McDermott. Lyles would be worth streaming in deep leagues if Mike Brown takes a similar approach, but the Hawks have two healthy centers (Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu) to account for. Alex Len and Orlando Robinson also played rotation minutes on Saturday, and the matchup could lead to one of them picking up a little more playing time.
  • SAC Small Forward #7
Doug McDermott played 19 minutes in Saturday’s win over Utah, tallying six points (2-of-7 FGs), one rebound, one steal, and two 3-pointers.
McDermott was inserted into the starting lineup on Saturday, replacing Alex Len. While he hit two 3-pointers, that was the extent of McDermott’s value to fantasy managers. As for Len, he contributed eight points, five rebounds, two assists, and one blocked shot in 13 minutes off the bench. Neither needs to be rostered for Week 5, even if Domantas Sabonis (back) misses more time.
  • SAC Small Forward #10
DeMar DeRozan (lower back tightness) is doubtful for the Kings’ Friday game against the Timberwolves.
DeRozan logged just two points in 17 minutes in his last game before suffering a back injury and it appears like he’ll need some time to recover. Doug McDermott is a strong candidate to receive a boost in minutes as a short-term solution.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #9
Kevin Huerter (illness) will remain sidelined for Monday’s matchup with the Heat.
Huerter will miss a second straight game, which will open up the starting shooting guard spot once again. Doug McDermott filled the void in their last game, though he only logged 15 minutes, while Malik Monk ended up playing 38 minutes. Keon Ellis ended up playing 27 minutes off the bench, and he should be able to provide some defensive stats, though there are likely more reliable options with all 30 teams playing.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #9
Kevin Huerter (illness) is questionable for Monday’s game against the Heat.
Huerter did not play in Saturday’s overtime loss to the Raptors, with Doug McDermott replacing him in the starting lineup. McDermott only played 15 minutes, with Malik Monk logging 38 off the bench. If Huerter plays on Monday, Monk’s minutes will decrease while McDermott likely falls out of the rotation entirely.
  • SAC Small Forward #7
De’Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, Doug McDermott, Keegan Murray, and Domantas Sabonis will start Saturday’s game against the Raptors.
The Kings are without Kevin Huerter (illness), but it won’t be Keon Ellis who replaces him in the starting lineup. McDermott receives the nod, adding another bonafide shooter along with Keegan Murray to the lineup. McDermott can provide points and 3-pointers, but fantasy managers should not expect too much from him in this spot.
  • SAC Power Forward #20
Doug McDermott made his debut for Sacramento on Thursday and contributed 14 points (5-of-13 FGs), five rebounds and four 3-pointers against the Clippers.
McDermott agreed to a partially guaranteed deal with the Kings on Wednesday and suited up for the team for the first time a day later. While it was a disappointing game to close out a winless preseason, it was encouraging to see McDermott pour in some buckets. He isn’t going to be much of a factor in fantasy basketball this season, but he is a solid depth piece for a team that is trying to make a return to the playoffs.
  • SAC Power Forward #20
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Doug McDermott has agreed to a one-year deal with the Sacramento Kings.
McDermott - a 41% three-point shooter for his career - spent the last six seasons playing for the Spurs and Pacers. He’ll bring floor-spacing to a loaded Sacramento team looking to make the playoffs for the second time in three seasons.
