First-round pick Dorell Wright strained his left groin during his summer-league debut Tuesday and was unable to play yesterday.
Wright, was scored 30 points in Tuesday’s game, is listed as day-to-day.
  • UTA Small Forward #8
Dominic McGuire will start in place of Stephen Curry on Wednesday night.
Monta Ellis will slide to shooting guard, Dorell Wright will start at shooting guard and McGuire will go at small forward. Maybe the position change will help Wright, who has been in a slump for much of the season.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
Dorell Wright denied that he wanted to be traded.
“I never said anything about me wanting to go any where. I want to be here. I didn’t say none of that,” he said. Wright said he had no idea where the rumor came from and has never expressed interest in being traded.

Richard Jefferson scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 6-of-10 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes.
The Warriors are reeling and Jefferson is a veteran that the team just made a pretty big financial commitment toward, so it makes sense that he’s finding his offense amidst a group of younger players. Brandon Rush scored nine points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in a ho-hum effort for those starting him in the five-game week, and Dorell Wright hit 3-of-7 shots for eight points, four rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers. There will likely be a different winner every night, but the trio should each see plenty of run.

Dorell Wright played 32 minutes on Friday against the Jazz, scoring six points on 3-of-12 shooting (no threes) with two rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.
The defensive numbers save the line, and with the Warriors’ solid playoff schedule owners will want to think twice and maybe three times before dropping Wright. For all the talk about his down year, his per-minute numbers are similar to last year and the biggest change is that Mark Jackson tried to make the Warriors a half-court defensive juggernaut.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
Dorell Wright hit just 2-of-7 shots for seven points, five rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer in Wednesday’s win at Atlanta.
Wright is perhaps the most frustrating player in the league to own in fantasy. He hit just 1-of-8 shots on Tuesday, but as soon as you’re ready to bench or drop him (which is now), he’ll likely blow up for a nice line. He’s still too good to drop in 12-team leagues, but he should be benched if you have a more reliable option, as we’ve been dealing with inconsistency from Wright all season long.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
Dorell Wright scored 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes on Friday.
Meanwhile, Brandon Rush stunk up the joint with seven points on 2-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and a block in 33 minutes off the bench. This game does nothing to shed light on Wright’s fantasy situation, as it’s a usable line due to the 3-pointers and that’s about it. It’s probably best to bench Wright, and wait for his next hot streak.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
Dorell Wright followed up Saturday’s two-point dud with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting in Sunday’s victory, with four 3-pointers, five rebounds, two steals and one block in 31 minutes.
We’ve catalogued Wright’s failings and there’s no need to reiterate them -- it suffices to say that he’d scored double-digit points in only five of the past 16 games (playing 30+ minutes one time during that stretch). We wouldn’t blame you for stashing him, just in case, but this game belies a season of inconsistency. As if to prove the point, he scored 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting in the first quarter tonight before vanishing the rest of the way.
  • DEN Small Forward #22
Richard Jefferson (knee) will not play on Saturday against the Clippers.
Following last night’s game against the Mavs, Jefferson experienced swelling in his right knee. After being evaluated by the team’s medical staff earlier Friday, he was scheduled to undergo an MRI later in the day. He’ll remain in the Bay Area for treatment and one has to wonder how hard the Warriors will push him to return. Dorell Wright and Brandon Rush are going to be worth watching as the team approaches a five-game week.
  • POR Shooting Guard #21
Brandon Rush scored nine points off the bench on Thursday, hitting 4-of-7 shots (including a three) with three rebounds and one assist in just under 30 minutes.
Rush has been hit-or-miss lately, making him a borderline play in the Warriors’ upcoming five-game week if owners had to make the call at this moment. Dorell Wright falls in the same boat following his six points, six rebounds, and two assists in 18 minutes tonight.
