The Chinese Basketball Association will resume playing on June 20 to conclude their 2019-20 season.
Games will be held without fans in the arenas, and the experience could prove instructive for the NBA as they navigate the complexities of playing ball in the midst of a pandemic. Many former NBA players are signed with teams in the CBA, and it remains to be seen whether they travel to rejoin their teams. The list includes Dominique Jones, who ranks first in the CBA in scoring at 37.8 points per game, Antonio Blakeney (second in scoring), and Tyler Hansbrough (32.3 points, 13.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.4 assists and 0.6 blocks).

  • DAL Point Guard
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Delonte West stepped on a basketball during Friday’s shootaround and twisted his ankle, leaving his status for Friday’s game against Portland uncertain.
With Jason Kidd (groin) also out, the Mavs would probably start Rodrigue Beaubois at the point and although Buckets has been spectacular at times, he has also disappeared at times as well. Jason Terry and Dominique Jones will also probably get minutes at the 1 as well.
  • NBA Head Coach #3
Jason Terry is expected to join the Mavericks in New York on Saturday, prior to Sunday’s matinee vs. the Knicks.
The Mavericks are riding a season-best six-game win streak, but they’ll need Terry to step up while Delonte West nurses his broken finger. Fantasy owners in deep leagues should watch how Terry’s return affects the playing time of Dominique Jones.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #20
Dominique Jones scored seven points off the bench on Monday, hitting 3-of-8 shots from the field with four rebounds and five assists in 25 minutes.
Jones and Brandan Wright (nine points, five boards, three blocks, 23 minutes) are worth a look in deeper leagues right now, though Jones will probably lose his minutes when Roddy Beaubois (personal) returns after the All Star break.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #20
Dominique Jones hit 5-of-9 shots for 12 points and five turnovers in Friday’s win.
He is going to get some run with Delonte West (finger), Roddy Beaubois and Jason Terry (personal) all out for the Mavs. Vince Carter started and had 10 points, six boards, four assists, a steal and a block, but DoJo should see decent minutes until the All-Star break, making him worth a deep-league look.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #20
Dominique Jones got a surprise start at SG for the Mavs on Saturday, and he responded with eight points, four rebounds, five assists and three turnovers in 26 minutes.
DoJo has been racking up handfuls of DNP-CDs this season, and he logged just 10 minutes on Friday, but the veteran Mavs needed him as they played their third game in three nights. He’ll meld back into the bench on Tuesday, so don’t give him too much thought.
  • DAL Point Guard #3
Mavs guard Roddy Beaubois isn’t likely to play again before the All-Star break due to the death of his father.
Roddy B, Jason Terry and Delonte West are out for the Mavs right now, meaning more run for Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Dominique Jones. Terry could make his return on Sunday from a personal leave, but the other two will be out longer.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West had surgery on Friday to repair his fractured right ring finger and there is no timetable for his return.
West was targeting a return in mid-March, but that was before news of surgery broke. Roddy Beaubois gets a big boost, while Vince Carter and Dominique Jones will also see more minutes with West out indefinitely.
  • DAL Shooting Guard #20
Mavs send G Dominique Jones to D-League’s Texas Legends.
He was averaging just 1.8 points a game in Dallas and this will clear a few more minutes for Vince Carter, Delonte West and Jason Terry.
  • DAL Point Guard
Delonte West left Wednesday night’s game after fracturing and dislocating his right ring finger and will not return.
It was a pretty gruesome injury, and he is expected to miss some “significant” time. The Mavericks were already without both Jason Terry (quad, personal) and Rodrigue Beaubois (personal) tonight, and now will be without the services of West for a while. Terry and Beaubois will both be back sooner rather than later, but for now, Jason Kidd and Vince Carter will see the majority of the minutes in the backcourt for Dallas. Dominique Jones will also see some extra run.
