Sixers head coach Doc Rivers tells reporters Danuel House (foot) and Dewayne Dedmon did not participate in practice Tuesday but are expected to be available Saturday.
With the Sixers not slated to begin their first-round matchup against the Nets until Saturday, some early week absences from practice shouldn’t be too much of a worry. House and Dedmon aren’t expected to be a part of Philly’s main playoff rotation however Doc Rivers would assumedly much rather have all hands-on deck. It’s the playoffs so anything can happen.

  • PHI Center #21
Joel Embiid (right calf tightness) is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.
Embiid did not play in Monday’s loss to the Nuggets, but Doc Rivers threw a curveball of sorts in picking the MVP candidate’s replacement. Dewayne Dedmon received the starting lineup and didn’t offer much production, while Paul Reed flourished in a reserve role. Even if he’s asked to come off the bench again, Reed is the far better streaming option should Embiid remain sidelined.

  • DET Power Forward #7
Paul Reed finished Monday’s 116-111 loss to the Nuggets with 16 points (7-of-7 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), nine rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one blocked shot in 17 minutes.
With Joel Embiid (calf) ruled out, many assumed that Reed would be called on to fill the void in the starting lineup. Doc Rivers had other ideas, going with Dewayne Dedmon instead. Dedmon didn’t do a whole lot, logging 10 minutes and going scoreless with two rebounds, one assist, and two blocked shots. Remaining on the bench didn’t prohibit Reed from offering value, as evidenced by the perfect night from the field and full stat line. Embiid should be back for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks, meaning a return to the bench for Dedmon. Reed will take a hit in that spot, but Monday was a reminder that he’s a valuable option whenever Embiid sits, even if Rivers confuses many by keeping BBall Paul on the bench.

  • PHI Center #21
Tyrese Maxey, De’Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris, P.J. Tucker, and Dewayne Dedmon will start Monday’s game against the Nuggets.
The 76ers will be without James Harden (Achilles) and Joel Embiid (calf) Monday night in Denver. While Melton remaining in the starting lineup for the former isn’t a surprise, the other replacement is. Dewayne Dedmon receives the starting nod to fill the void left by Embiid rather than Paul Reed. Fantasy managers would be wise to leave Dedmon on the waiver wire.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon (left hip tightness) is available for Saturday’s game against the Bucks.
Dedmon is available to make his 76ers debut, but there’s no guarantee he sees action. 76ers coach Doc Rivers said it’s unlikely that the veteran center will play rotation minutes, but the circumstances of the game could change that. Regardless of what happens, Dedmon should not be rostered in fantasy leagues.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon (left hip tightness) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Bucks.
Dedmon still hasn’t made his 76ers debut, with the hip injury being why. Even if he’s cleared to play, the veteran big man is unlikely to get the minutes needed to be of value in fantasy leagues.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon (left hip tightness) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Heat.
Due to the hip injury, Dedmon has yet to make his 76ers debut. Philadelphia has been calling on Paul Reed and/or Montrezl Harrell to back up Joel Embiid, so Dedmon’s continued absence will not impact fantasy basketball.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon will likely be out a couple more games according to 76ers coach Doc Rivers.
Dedmon has yet to make his debut for Philly, but he’s unlikely to do more than provide frontcourt depth behind Joel Embiid, Montrezl Harrell and Paul Reed. Dedmon can remain on the waiver wire even once he’s cleared to return.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon (left hip tightness) has officially been listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Grizzlies.
The journeyman big hasn’t seen the floor since early January when he was a member of the Heat. Now, after being traded to and waived by the Spurs, Dedmon is looking to contribute on a contending Sixers team. It will be interesting to see how he slots into the rotation. Although the backup center spot had been filled by Montrezl Harrell this season, Harrell has seen his playing time decrease over the past few games including a few DNPs.

  • PHI Center #21
Dewayne Dedmon has signed with the 76ers for the remainder of the season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dedmon was traded to the Spurs just for the Heat to get rid of him, and San Antonio waived him shortly after, as they were more interested in the 2028 second-round pick that came along with him. While Dedmon will provide depth at center behind Joel Embiid, he’ll be the third option behind Montrezl Harrell. As long as Embiid is healthy, Dedmon will provide no fantasy value whatsoever, and it’s unlikely he does much if Embiid doesn’t play.
