Phil Jackson told SheridanHoops.com he has “no intention of ever coaching again.”
Jackson is reportedly the Nets’ top choice for their coaching vacancy, although the team appears content to play out the season under interim P.J. Carlesimo. While this may throw some cold water on those reports, no one should take the quote as a guarantee. Jackson and his camp have never been shy about using public denials as a way to strengthen their negotiating power. We have a feeling Phil’s name will pop back up once the Nets ramp up their coaching search.

Deron Williams has arrived in Istanbul and is ready to begin his career with Besiktas.
He had a previous flight delayed because of “passport issues”, but he’s landed safely in Turkey. He’s expected to suit up for the team at the end of September for the first time.

Nets GM Billy King recently watched Deron Williams play for Besiktas in Turkey -- D-Will finished the game with 24 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.
King is allowed to watch Williams play but cannot have any contact with him, or comment on his performance. It sounds like D-Will is settling in with his new team, after a lackluster period of adjustment.

Deron Williams (sore left foot) and Kris Humphries (calf) did not practice on Thursday, but will play on Friday against the Celtics.
The Nets are giving two guys who play huge minutes a maintenance day during the compressed season. With both expected to play, owners should keep both players entrenched as fixtures in the lineup.
  • PHI Small Forward #45
Gerald Wallace is expected to make his Nets debut on Saturday against the Hornets.
Unless we hear that Wallace is going to be held back or eased in, there is no reason for owners to hold back on using him. Considering how bad things were in Portland, the move to Jersey looks like a net positive for Crash on the surface. Jordan Farmar and Anthony Morrow will struggle a bit more for minutes, assuming Deron Williams (calf) plays, of course.

Deron Williams (calf) scored 28 points on 8-of-23 shooting (including four threes) with eight assists and two steals in the Nets’ 105-100 loss to the Cavs on Monday.
Williams was rested in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game and judging from the talk amongst Jersey beat writers the Nets are very much monitoring the injury, even if it’s just precautionary measures. All in all, with no report of an aggravation this is another positive step forward for D-Will’s owners tonight.

Jordan Farmar (groin) will practice on Tuesday and be a game-time decision for Wednesday’s game against the Wizards.
As long as Deron Williams’ calf injury doesn’t linger, Farmar will struggle to hold real value in fantasy leagues.

Deron Williams destroyed Darren Collison to the tune of 30 points and nine assists as the Nets defeated the Pacers on Wednesday. He was 11-of-19 from the field, including four 3-pointers, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the stripe. He chipped in two steals and turned the ball over just once.
Williams has been scorching since returning from a calf injury a few weeks ago. The elite guard should continue to shine, but with the Nets out of the playoff race, Williams could decide to shut it down if he picks up another injury. Having played over the summer, the miles are certainly piling up.

Deron Williams (illness) will start for the Nets on Friday when they take on the Wizards.
D-Will was a late scratch on Wednesday, but will make it only a one-game absence as he will return to the lineup against Washington. Sundiata Gaines will move back to the bench.

Deron Williams (illness) returned to action on Friday against the Wizards, scoring 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, 13 assists, and one steal in 33 minutes.
Williams is an emerging prima donna and he might decide to take a game off when he feels like it down the stretch, but everything else is ‘all systems go.’ He was shaking his left arm during the game, but we haven’t heard anything about it that has us concerned.
