Free agent DerMarr Johnson scored 25 points for the Grizzlies’ summer-league squad yesterday in a win over the Canadian National Team
It was Johnson’s first game action since last September’s car accident. Some team will take a chance on the 2000 first-round pick this summer, but it’s uncertain whether he’ll receive any meaningful playing time next season.
  • MIN Small Forward
DerMarr Johnson could start tonight in place of Carmelo Anthony.
Nene started the last game, but Johnson came out with the second half starters to score 18 points.
  • MIN Small Forward
Dermarr Johnson could be the starting small forward tomorrow vs. Memphis if Allan Houston, Tim Thomas and Penny Hardaway can’t go.
Well, if you need a one-game scorer, Johnson might help.
  • MIN Small Forward
Coach Lenny Wilkens said that DerMarr Johnson will be signed to a second 10-day contract when his first one expires tomorrow.
Johnson, a former lottery pick, hasn’t hit a shot yet, but Wilkens likes what he’s shown in practice.
  • MIN Small Forward
Hawks GM Pete Babcock confirmed Wednesday that DerMarr Johnson could be back practicing before the end of the season.
Johnson has made a lot of progress since nearly losing his left in car accident in September. He won’t be allowed to play in a game this season, but he should resume contact drills soon.
  • MIN Small Forward
DerMarr Johnson was cleared to resume practicing Friday, nearly seven months after an automobile accident left him with four cracked vertebrae in his neck.
Johnson is not expected to get into a game this month.
  • MIN Small Forward
    Nuggets signed swingman DerMarr Johnson.
Even after signing Greg Buckner and Rodney White, the Nuggets don’t feel comfortable with their swingmen. Johnson averaged 5.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 21 games with the Knicks last season.
  • MIN Small Forward
DerMarr Johnson got the start at shooting guard for the Nuggets on Thursday due to the loss of Voshon Lenard (torn achilles).
Johnson had just two points in 15 minutes and Rodney White (nine point on 4-of-8 shooting) will probably win the starting job unless the Nuggets decide to move Carmelo Anthony to shooting guard. Regardless of what happens, neither Johnson or White probably have much fantasy value at this point.
  • MIN Small Forward
DerMarr Johnson established season highs with 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals in 35 minutes tonight.
Nene started in place of Carmelo Anthony, but it was Johnson who received the majority of the time at small forward. He had played a total of 24 minutes this month.
  • MIN Small Forward
DerMarr Johnson replaced Earl Boykins in the starting lineup for the Nuggets tonight and helped them rout the Celtics by hitting 5-of-9 shots and finishing with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and two threes.
Boykins had just eight points off the bench, but the fact that the Nuggets offense scored 107 points could mean Johnson will stay in the lineup.
