DeJuan Blair tied a career-high with 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting to go with 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 35 minutes on Thursday.
Blair delivered an icy glare to Danny Green for not passing him the ball in the final seconds, as Blair had an easy chance to break his career-mark and Green unknowingly continued on with an uncontested layup. Of course, this highlights why Blair doesn’t get consistent minutes and Green is one of Gregg Popovich’s favorites. We don’t know if this will jump-start Blair after the break, but with Tiago Splitter out at least a week on the other side -- Blair is worth a short-term look.

Tiago Splitter returned from his calf injury on Wednesday and had five points, four rebounds and a block in 18 minutes.
DeJuan Blair had nine points, nine rebounds, a steal and a block in 23 minutes tonight, and will take a bit of a hit once Splitter is back up to full speed.
  • NBA Coaching Staff #47
Tiago Splitter is expected to return on Wednesday after missing four games with a back injury.
He’ll limit the minutes of DeJuan Blair, who has been logging heavy playing time recently.
  • NBA Coaching Staff #47
Tiago Splitter had 17 points, seven rebounds and a block in 22 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
Tim Duncan was out and DeJuan Blair (nine points, five boards, three steals) started at center, leaving plenty of time for Splitter to put up solid numbers again. He’s averaging nearly nine points, six boards and a block per game over his last five, but is probably due for a night off at some point soon.
  • SAS Power Forward #33
Starting at center vs. the Jazz, Boris Diaw scored nine points on Sunday, the most points he’s scored in a Spurs uniform.
Diaw made 4-of-5 FGs and grabbed five boards in 26 minutes of action, while DeJuan Blair only played nine minutes off the bench. Both guys will be leaned on heavily if Tiago Splitter’s wrist injury costs him any games.

DeJuan Blair scored four points on 2-of-8 shooting with 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and five turnovers in 28 minutes on Friday against the Bobcats.
This was a game that Blair should have dominated, but aside from the turnovers he had four of his shots blocked. With Tiago Splitter (nine points, five boards, one block, 21 minutes) working his way back from injury, it’s probably time to look elsewhere if you have been relying on Blair.

DeJuan Blair double-doubled against the Wizards on Monday, scoring 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with 12 rebounds and no steals or blocks in 26 minutes.
Blair had fallen off a cliff so it will take more than a game against the lowly Wizards for us to change our opinion of his fantasy value. Tiago Splitter also played well with 17 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes.
  • SAS Center #15
Matt Bonner (back spasms) won’t play on Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
This is the first we’ve heard about Bonner having issues with his back so we’re going to call it a day-to-day injury at this time. DeJuan Blair, Tiago Splitter and Tim Duncan should all see an increase in minutes with Bonner out.
  • NBA Power Forward #6
Derrick Williams is expected to start for the Timberwolves in the absence of Nikola Pekovic (ankle) on Wednesday.
The Spurs start a power forward at center in the form of DeJuan Blair, so Rick Adelman decided that he would too.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #5
James Anderson will start for Kawhi Leonard (rest) on Thursday against the Warriors, joining Patty Mills, Danny Green, Boris Diaw, and DeJuan Blair.
We’ve heard a few different reporters say that the “key contributors will be limited in minutes,” and NBA.com specifically pointed out Green and Matt Bonner in their report. That leaves Stephen Jackson as a wild card in his return to Oakland, but if he’s a “key contributor” like we think he is his minutes may also be in doubt. It appears like Mills, Diaw, Blair, Anderson, and perhaps Tiago Splitter will be the best Spurs plays, but that’s a total guess.
