  • GSW Shooting Guard #17
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that the Warriors have traded a 2031 second-round pick (via Dallas) in a sign-and-trade deal to acquire Buddy Hield from the 76ers.
Shams notes that Hield and new teammate Steph Curry are second and first respectively in most made three-pointers over the last five seasons. Hield is one of only six players in NBA history to average at least 3.0 triples per contest, and at 1,924 career triples made, Hield could become just the 17th player in league history to reach 2,000 career three-pointers. Hield’s arrival in the Bay could cut into the playing time of Brandin Podziemski and De’Anthony Melton, but with Andrew Wiggins likely out the door, there could be room for all three players to see meaningful rotational roles. Back in Philly, Hield’s departure opens up more opportunities for newcomer Eric Gordon and rookie Jared McCain.

The Warriors are in “serious talks” to acquire Buddy Hield in a sign-and-trade, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The full details of what this move would look like aren’t clear, but it’s clear that the Warriors are wasting no time replacing Klay Thompson. They’ve also added De’Anthony Melton this week, so the non-Stephen Curry guard minutes will be hard to come by, especially with Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody still in the mix currently. That will make things messy for fantasy managers looking to find value in Golden State, though it does provide them with plenty of depth.

De’Anthony Melton has agreed to a one-year, $12.8 million deal with the Warriors, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Melton was incredibly limited last season by injuries, but before that, he was a top-75 player in fantasy for the 76ers and really stepped up when James Harden and Tyrese Maxey missed time. Now, he’ll look to provide some of the 3-and-D value that the Warriors will need to replace Klay Thompson now that he is in Dallas. This is a sneaky good pickup for the Warriors as they try to remain competitive in a stacked Western Conference.
  • PHI Small Forward #9
Kelly Oubre Jr. (illness) will play on Tuesday’s game against the Knicks.
Despite missing the 76ers’ pregame shootaround, Oubre was probable on the initial injury report. He will play in Game 5, with 76ers coach Nick Nurse saying that “it’s a matter of how far he can go” regarding how much Oubre plays. Nicolas Batum and DeAnthony Melton can play additional minutes if Kelly is limited.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) has been upgraded from questionable to active ahead of Thursday’s 76ers-Knicks game.
Melton is set to make his 2024 postseason debut. His nagging back injury has improved enough for him to hit the hardwood and his status will likely reduce Kyle Lowry’s minutes.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) is questionable to play in Game 3 against the Knicks on Thursday.
Melton has only been available to play in a handful of games since January, but there is a chance that he is back in the lineup for Game 3. He will likely play a limited role off the bench, but his shooting and defense could be an x-factor in this series, especially with the 76ers currently down 0-2.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) has been ruled out for the 76ers Game 2 matchup against the Knicks on Monday.
Melton is set to kick off a new week by missing his fourth consecutive contest. The 76ers guard has played sparingly in 2024 and his absence won’t affect Philadelphia’s current rotation.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) will remain sidelined for Game 1 against the Knicks on Saturday.
Melton has played in a total of seven games in 2024, with two coming this month. However, he is back on the sidelines for this one after missing their Play-In matchup with the Heat. Cam Payne and Buddy Hield will continue to fill out the backup guard minutes.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Heat.
While optimism was high when Melton returned to action during the final week of the regular season, he remained restricted regarding playing time. He did not practice on Tuesday and will not be available for the Play-In game against the Heat. Also, it’s unknown if (or when) Melton will be available if the 76ers play their way into the playoffs.
  • PHI Shooting Guard #8
De’Anthony Melton (back injury recovery) and KJ Martin (left great toe contusion) are out for Sunday’s game against the Nets.
Melton and Martin will join Joel Embiid on the sidelines for Sunday’s regular-season finale, but their absences will be less impactful. Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre Jr., Buddy Hield, Kyle Lowry, and Cameron Payne are available on the perimeter. At the same time, Ricky Council IV could absorb the limited minutes that Martin would have received.
