De’Andre Hunter provided a boost off the bench on Monday with 24 points (9-of-15 FGs), two rebounds, one assist, one block and four 3-pointers against the Kings.
After returning from a lengthy absence, Hunter has come off the bench in his last two appearances. It may seem like a demotion in favor of Zaccharie Risacher, but it has been a beneficial move for both Hunter and the Hawks. In his last two games, he has averaged 23.0 points and 3.5 triples while shooting 57.1% from the floor. He has shot an absurdly high percentage for a perimeter player, and that will likely even out as he plays more games. However, while he still isn’t contributing defensive stats, this role as a reserve has been ideal for him.

Jalen Johnson (left lateral lower leg inflammation) has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Kings.
This is a very late update on a player that was never on the injury report for this game. It’s unclear if something happened during warmups, but this will be Johnson’s first absence of the season. De’Andre Hunter or Larry Nance Jr. should start in his place, depending on what type of lineup Quin Snyder wants to utilize against the Kings sans Domantas Sabonis and DeMar DeRozan.

De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury management) is available for Monday’s game against Sacramento.
Hunter is back after sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Trail Blazers. He came off the bench in his first game back with the team, scoring 22 points in Friday’s win over Washington. Hunter may take on a similar role on Monday, but he’s still in a good spot to provide solid fantasy value.

De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury management) is out for Sunday’s game against the Trail Blazers.
Hunter played well in his return to the lineup on Friday, scoring 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting. He did not experience any setbacks after that performance; Hunter’s not playing on Sunday is due to it being the first game of a back-to-back.

De’Andre Hunter returned to the lineup on Friday and contributed 22 points (7-of-13 FGs), three rebounds, one assist and three 3-pointers against the Wizards.
After missing Atlanta’s last 10 games, Hunter returned to the lineup on Wednesday. He came off the bench, and it wouldn’t be surprising if that continued for the rest of the season. However, that shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing. His early 9-cat value was inflated by only playing two games, and managers shouldn’t expect statistical defensive contributions often. What he can provide consistently is buckets. Hunter has never been great in 9-cat leagues, but if he can help Bogdan Bogdanovic handle the bench scoring when he returns, Hunter should be solid in points formats.
  • ATL Point Guard #11
Trae Young (right Achilles tendinitis) and De’Andre Hunter (paternity leave) are not on the injury report for Friday’s game against the Wizards.
Achilles tendinitis will only sideline Young for one game, meaning the few who streamed Keaton Wallace can move on to better options. As for Hunter, he has not appeared in a game since October 25. Since then, rookie Zaccharie Risacher has moved into the starting lineup, and the job could be his for the foreseeable future. Even if Risacher were to be replaced by Hunter in the lineup, the rookie should not be dropped where he’s currently rostered.

De’Andre Hunter (personal) and Seth Lundy (left ankle sprain) will remain sidelined for Tuesday’s game against Boston.
While Lundy’s continued absence won’t impact the team’s rotation, but it is worth noting that Hunter is still out due to personal reasons, not a right knee injury. It’s unclear how much longer he’ll be out, since he hasn’t played since their second game of the season. Zaccharie Risacher should continue to start in his place.

The Hawks have changed De’Andre Hunter’s injury listing from right knee injury management to personal reasons.
Hunter has missed Atlanta’s last eight games and will also miss Saturday’s game against the Bulls. While the knee was the reason listed on early injury reports, Hunter has been away from the team with his partner as hey welcomed their first child. According to reports, the child was born two months premature on Saturday. The expectation is that Hunder will be able to play sometime next week.

De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury management) is out for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Saturday makes nine straight games on the sideline for Hunter, who, according to the Hawks, is simply managing a knee injury. Regardless of the merits of the injury description, his absence has opened the door for Zaccharie Risacher to move into the starting lineup. The rookie has improved by the game and should be rostered wherever he’s available.

De’Andre Hunter (right knee injury management) is out for Friday’s game against the Pistons.
Friday’s absence will be the eighth for Hunter, who missed more than a month last season for a similar injury to the same knee. Rookie Zaccharie Risacher, who had the best game of his brief NBA career in Wednesday’s win over the Knicks, will remain in the starting lineup. And this may wind up being a “Wally Pipp” situation for Hunter.
