  • TOR Point Guard #15
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Kings have traded Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov and the 45th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft for Jalen McDaniels.
Vezenkov only logged 12.2 minutes per game as a rookie, but he could see an increase in playing time for the rebuilding Raptors. Mitchell averaged nearly 28 minutes per game as a rookie, but his playing time has declined in each of the last two seasons. Both players were afterthoughts off of Sacramento’s bench, but they may see new opportunities in Toronto. Neither player, however, is worth drafting in 12-team fantasy leagues next season.

Malik Monk played 27 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Rockets, scoring 20 points (8-of-16 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with four rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers.
Monk has scored 20 points or more in three of the five games he’s played in March, with the scoring being one reason why he has been a top 75 player in 8- and 9-cat formats over the past two weeks. While Davion Mitchell (8/2/3 with two 3-pointers) and Keon Ellis (one rebound, three assists) have been in the rotation, Monk has taken on more playmaking responsibilities for the bench unit. That has also factored into his recently improved production, with Monk averaging 6.3 assists per game over the past two weeks. That’s a positive development for managers who have him rostered with the fantasy playoffs on the horizon in most leagues.

Davion Mitchell (right chest soreness) is available for Sunday’s tilt with Houston.
Mitchell’s absence won’t be too significant for fantasy hoops, but Keon Ellis and Chris Duarte could see a few extra minutes in his absence.

Davion Mitchell (right chest soreness) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Rockets.
Mitchell has played better basketball recently, but his status only impacts fantasy basketball if starting point guard De’Aaron Fox is not healthy. Fox is not on the injury report, so there’s nothing for fantasy managers to be concerned about. If Mitchell sits, Keon Ellis will absorb his minutes and is not worth streaming.

Davion Mitchell shot 4-of-4 from the field in Wednesday’s win over the Lakers, accounting for 12 points, one rebound, one assist, and four 3-pointers in 18 minutes.
The overall stat line was modest, but Mitchell’s worth from beyond the arc is noteworthy. The four 3-pointers matched his season high, first achieved in a February 11 loss to the Thunder. And Mitchell also went 4-of-4 from deep in that game. While a double-digit scorer in two of his last three outings, the lack of consistent production makes Mitchell a player who should not be rostered in most leagues. But it was nice to see him knock down a few 3-pointers, as he’s struggled as a perimeter shooter since entering the NBA.

De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 20 points (8-of-16 FGs), one rebound, 10 assists, one steal, two triples and five turnovers in a 113-109 loss to the Bulls on Monday.
After missing their last two games due to a knee contusion, Fox returned to the starting lineup on Monday. He ended up extending his 20-point streak to six games and had just his fourth double-double of the season. It wasn’t one of his best games of the season, but with the fantasy playoffs either approaching or in full swing, it is vital to at least have him out on the court. Davion Mitchell only played nine minutes, and Keon Ellis didn’t see the floor at all. While each player got a start with Fox out, neither will be worth rostering when Fox is active.
  • SAC Point Guard #5
De’Aaron Fox (left knee contusion) will play against the Bulls on Monday.
Fox will be back after missing their last two games, which will push Keon Ellis back to the bench. Ellis and Davion Mitchell each saw a start with Fox out of the lineup, but both will return to fantasy irrelevancy with Fox active.
  • SAC Point Guard #5
De’Aaron Fox (left knee contusion) participated in pregame shootaround ahead of Monday’s game against the Bulls.
Sidelined for the Kings’ last two games, Fox was also a full participant in practice on Sunday. All signs indicate him being cleared to play and dropping Keon Ellis to the bench. While neither Ellis nor Davion Mitchell exceeded 20 minutes in their respective spot starts, the former was more effective regarding deep-league streaming value.
  • SAC Point Guard #5
De’Aaron Fox was a full participant in Sunday’s practice and is listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup with Chicago due to a left knee contusion.
Fox has missed two straight, with Davion Mitchell and Keon Ellis each starting a game in his absence. Mitchell did little across his 16 minutes as a starter, but Ellis provided four steals, a block and seven dimes in just 18 minutes in Sacramento’s most recent game. If Fox ends up sitting out Monday, whoever of Ellis or Mitchell starts will be a risk/reward streaming option.

Keon Ellis finished Friday’s win over the Timberwolves with two points (1-of-2 FGs), two rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one blocked shot in 19 minutes.
After Davion Mitchell struggled in the starting point guard role on Wednesday, Ellis was allowed to show what he could do on Friday. He wasn’t on the floor particularly long, but the assists, steals, and blocks will undoubtedly play as far as deep-league streaming value is concerned. Ellis landed in foul trouble, and Malik Monk went off for 39 points, hence the low minutes tally. As for Mitchell, he was better on Friday, finishing with 16 points, two rebounds, and two assists in 25 minutes. Sacramento doesn’t play again until Monday against the Bulls, which could be enough time for De’Aaron Fox to return from his knee injury. So, there’s no need to add Ellis or Mitchell after their performances on Friday.
