VP Chris Mullin is on his way back from a European scouting trip, with a new priority of getting something for Dale Davis and Clifford Robinson, who together represent $15 million of cap space.
The Warriors can’t profit from that cap relief because they already are over the cap for next year. The Nets continue to offer two second-round picks and a trade exception for Robinson. Mike Dunleavy could be another tradeable commodity.

Pistons’ big man Dale Davis was arrested around 2 a.m. in Miami Beach, FL and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest without violence, assault and assault of a law enforcement officer.
Davis, 37, threatened officers and had to be subdued by a Taser to be arrested. The Taser burst left small puncture marks on his chest and abdomen, according to police, but all this should be sorted out by the time the season starts. Davis is expected to play a minor role for the Pistons off the bench this season.

The Pistons are expected to increase the role of backup center Dale Davis, as an additional option against Shaq.
Davis averaged a career-low 0.9 PPG in what could be his final season. If Detroit decides to go real big, the Heat could respond with playing both Shaq and Zo at the same time.

Coach Mike Montgomery has used the same lineup in his last two preseason games, both victories: Jason Richardson, Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton.
Peppered with questions about his lineup, Montgomery still refused to name starters, but Richardson, Murphy, and Dunleavy are assured of jobs and are the primary scoring options. Adonal Foyle is trying to win a starting job over Davis, and nothing has yet been decided between Claxton and Derek Fisher at point guard.
