Daishen Nix (right ankle sprain) has been cleared to play against Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Nix will be back in the lineup, but he hasn’t been part of the team’s rotation this season. This won’t impact fantasy basketball.
  • MIN Power Forward #55
Luka Garza (left ankle sprain) and Daishen Nix (right ankle sprain) will miss Sunday’s game against the Spurs.
Neither Garza nor Nix is in the rotation when healthy. Their absences will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • MIN Power Forward #55
Luka Garza (left ankle sprain) and Daishen Nix (right ankle sprain) are out for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
When healthy, Garza and Nix aren’t in the Timberwolves’ rotation. Their absences will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #1
Daishen Nix (right ankle sprain) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Mavericks.
Nix’s absence will not impact fantasy basketball, as he is not in the rotation when healthy.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #12
Minnesota announced that Daishen Nix is signing a two-way deal.
The Timberwolves waived Matt Ryan to sign Nix to a two-way deal last season and have decided to bring him back for 2024-25. He averaged just 3.3 minutes in the 15 games he appeared in last season, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect much from him. Especially give the guard talent that Minnesota added through the 2024 NBA Draft.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #15
The Timberwolves have converted Daishen Nix to a two-way contract and waived Matt Ryan.
Nix was signed to a training camp deal in mid-September, nearly three months after being waived by the Rockets. He played well in limited minutes during the preseason, averaging 6.0 points per game on 57% shooting from the field. Nix’s addition won’t impact fantasy basketball, as the Timberwolves have Mike Conley, Shake Milton, and Jordan McLaughlin to play the point. In a corresponding move, the Timberwolves waived Matt Ryan in order to free up a two-way contract slot.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #15
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Timberwolves have signed Daishen Nix to a one-year contract.
Nix spent his first two NBA seasons with the Rockets franchise, appearing in 57 games in 2022-23 and averaging 4.0 points and 2.3 assists per game. He’s joining the team on an Exhibit 10 contract, which only guarantees him a spot in training camp. While this does give him an opportunity to earn a roster spot, Nix’s signing will not impact fantasy basketball. The Timberwolves are at the league maximum for guaranteed contracts (15).
  • FA Shooting Guard #15
According to The Athletic, the Rockets have decided to waive Daishen Nix.
Not selected in the 2022 NBA Draft, Nix played for G League Ignite before the Rockets signed him in the summer of 2022. He appeared in a total of 81 games over two seasons, averaging 3.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 14.5 minutes. This move gives Nix the chance to latch on with another franchise ahead of next month’s Summer League action.
  • MIA Shooting Guard #8
The Rockets will start Josh Christopher, Jalen Green, K.J. Martin, Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun against the Wizards on Sunday.
Christopher will get the starting nod in place of Kevin Porter Jr., who is out due to right knee soreness. He should play a larger role in this game, though Daishen Nix will likely also help fill the void.

  • LAC Point Guard #77
Kevin Porter Jr. (left thigh contusion) is available for Saturday’s game against the Bulls.
Porter participated in Saturday’s pregame shootaround without any issues, so he’ll play against the Bulls. His return to the lineup drops Daishen Nix to the bench, and this won’t impact fantasy basketball at all. Nix wasn’t worth the risk as a streamer when given the opportunity to start.
