In the absence of Bonzi Wells, the Grizzlies have continued to start Dahntay Jones at shooting guard so Mike Miller can provide instant offense off the bench.
Interesting. When Wells is healthy, Miller is the probable starter, since Wells is capable of being the off-the-bench scorer. Unusual that when Wells goes down, so does Miller in a way.

Danny Granger (knee, rest) won’t play on Wednesday against the Bulls.
While George Hill and Roy Hibbert are expected to return to action, Granger will take his second straight game off to rest what is being called a strained knee. Frank Vogel said Granger “could go” if this was the playoffs, so the Pacers are just being cautious with him before the postseason begins. Dahntay Jones is a candidate to start in Granger’s place.
  • LAC Power Forward #19
Jeff Pendergraph started for Roy Hibbert (rest) on Monday against the Pistons, setting season-highs in points (10) and rebounds (seven) in 18 minutes.
Pendergraph added two blocks and an assist. He might be worth a look in deeper leagues for Wednesday’s finale against the Bulls, as Hibbert has already been announced to be on a minute-limit for that contest. Fellow starters A.J. Price scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting with four rebounds and six assists in 17 minutes, and Dahntay Jones had six points on 2-of-7 shooting with three boards, two assists, and a three.

Defensive swingman Dahntay Jones could see increased minutes against the Heat during the second round of the playoffs.
Frank Vogel would be wise to use the gritty Jones for a few extra minutes against the elite Heat wings. Vogel also mentioned using a zone defense, which is no surprise, either.

Veteran swingman Dahntay Jones scored 13 points off the bench on Saturday, with three 3-pointers, three assists and two steals in 23 minutes.
Jones got extra burn with Paul George mired in foul trouble, and he made the most of his opportunity. The Pacers have hit a bit of a lull lately, but this victory moved them three games ahead of seventh-place Boston.

Leandro Barbosa may miss the Pacers’ first playoff game if his ankle injury does not get better quickly.
Barbosa sat out the season finale against Chicago on Wednesday and has been limited in practice the past two days because the injury to his left ankle. Dahntay Jones will likely get a majority of Barbosa’s minutes if he’s unable to play.
  • DET Small Forward #26
Danny Granger (food poisoning) will be a game-time decision vs. the 76ers on Monday.
Granger also tweaked his ankle in Saturday’s game but it doesn’t sound like that’s an issue. The Pacers play four games this week which means owners should leave Granger active in the majority of formats -- if he can’t play on Monday, expect Dahntay Jones and George Hill (also iffy with a sore back) to absorb his minutes.
  • IND Point Guard #3
George Hill (back) remains listed as day-to-day.
Hill dressed for the Pacers on Monday night but did not play in the game. He was only active in case of emergency, and his injury is truly a day-to-day case. Owners will have to wait for a clearer update on his condition on Wednesday when the Pacers play Atlanta.
  • CLE Shooting Guard #30
Dahntay Jones started for Danny Granger (food poisoning) on Monday against the Sixers, and scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks in 35 minutes.
This line is actually quite nice for a spot-start but we doubt seriously that Granger could get poisoned by food two times in his life let alone twice in one week. And yes, our tongue was actually stuck in our cheek during the writing of this blurb.
  • IND Point Guard #3
George Hill (back) dressed Monday but did not play due to coach’s decision.
Hill was only active in case of emergency and any time he misses will mark a small bump in productivity for Darren Collison and to a lesser degree, Paul George.
