De’Andre Hunter (illness) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Raptors.
Absent from the Hawks’ initial injury report, Hunter is now questionable for Saturday’s game. The status downgrade likely factored into Atlanta’s decision to recall Daeqwon Plowden from the G League, but he’s unlikely to impact fantasy basketball if Hunter sits. Garrison Mathews would have added value off the bench, especially with Bogdan Bogdanovic struggling.
  • ATL Small Forward #12
De’Andre Hunter (left foot soreness) is probable for Saturday’s game against the Celtics.
Hunter is on track to play after sitting out Atlanta’s last two games. His return would push Daeqwon Plowden out of the rotation, with the two-way contract recipient excelling in the Hawks’ win over Chicago on Wednesday. Plowden was too risky to stream against the Bulls, so Hunter’s return won’t change much for him fantasy-wise.
  • ATL Shooting Guard #29
Daeqwon Plowden made his NBA debut on Wednesday and finished with 19 points (7-of-8 FGs), four rebounds and five 3-pointers against the Bulls.
Plowden signed a two-way deal with the Hawks a few weeks ago, but this was his first time suiting up in the NBA. It couldn’t have gone better, as he made his first seven shots before finally missing a shot with just a few minutes left in the game. It was an awesome story to see Plowden play this well in his NBA debut, but he shouldn’t be added off the waiver wire just because of this game. Atlanta won’t be down their top three scorers and another starter often.
  • GSW Center
The Warriors have signed Quinten Post to a two-way contract.
Selected 52nd overall in this summer’s NBA Draft, Post’s contract status was not finalized until Tuesday. He will be on a two-way deal, with the Warriors waiving Daequon Plowden to make room for Post. The former Boston College standout was one of the best big men in the ACC last season, earning all-conference and All-Defensive Team honors. Don’t look for Post to impact fantasy basketball this season.
  • GSW Shooting Guard #29
Daeqwon Plowden has agreed to a two-way deal with the Warriors, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Plowden has made a few preseason appearances since going undrafted in 2022, but he hasn’t played in an NBA game yet. However, he has stood out this summer and has averaged 16.6 points per game for the Warriors thus far. If he remains with the team, he will likely spend most of next season in the G-League once again.
