According to a report from Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto, Joseph is signing a two-year deal with Orlando.
Joseph averaged 11.4 points per game for the Warriors last season. The reserve guard will likely have a hard time finding significant minutes next season, though. The Magic added Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a backcourt group that includes Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, and Anthony Black. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect Joseph to be an impact player any time soon.
  • IND Point Guard #1
Cory Joseph has been waived by the Pacers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The veteran point guard will look for a new home after playing a minimal role for Golden State this season. Even if he lands a new deal, it’s unlikely he sees enough minutes to be worth rostering in fantasy hoops.
  • IND Point Guard #1
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Cody Joseph has been traded to the Pacers.
Joseph is returning to Indiana, where he played from 2017-19. However, this doesn’t move the needle at all in fantasy basketball. He wasn’t a factor with the Warriors, and the Pacers’ depth at point guard makes it difficult to foresee a rotation spot for him. Leave Joseph on the waiver wire.
  • GSW Point Guard #30
Steph Curry will be sidelined for Saturday’s tilt with Milwaukee due to rest.
Curry came through in the second half with 21 points in Saturday’s come-from-behind victory over Chicago, and the veteran will get the night off for the second leg of the back-to-back set. With Chris Paul out indefinitely and Moses Moody also out of action, Brandin Podziemski and Cory Joseph should see some extra minutes in the Warriors’ backcourt.
  • GSW Point Guard #3
Chris Paul (fractured left hand) will be sidelined for the next four-to-six weeks, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
CP3 fractured his hand on Friday night, and now he is expected to be sidelined until mid-February. Brandin Podziemski stands to benefit the most in fantasy hoops, though Cory Joseph and Moses Moody should also see some extra minutes in the rotation.
  • GSW Point Guard #3
Chris Paul (illness) is questionable to play against the Thunder on Friday.
CP3 is a late addition to the injury report, and if he isn’t able to suit up, Cory Joseph would likely fill out the backup point guard minutes. Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody would also see a few extra minutes, but none of them will be a reliable option in place of Paul.
  • GSW Small Forward #22
Chris Paul (lower left leg nerve contusion) and Andrew Wiggins (right index finger contusion) will play against Portland on Wednesday.
Wiggins will take back over in the starting unit in place of Moses Moody, which means that he will start alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney. Paul will play the role of backup point guard, which will drop Cory Joseph from the rotation.
  • GSW Point Guard #3
Chris Paul (lower left leg nerve contusion) will be re-evaluated on Monday, while Gary Payton II (strained right calf) will be re-evaluated next Thursday.
Both CP3 and GP2 exited early from Tuesday’s game against the Kings, but it doesn’t appear that either suffered a major injury. Neither will play against the Clippers on Thursday or Saturday, and because of the In-Season tournament, there are only games on Wednesday and Friday of next week. So Paul could be back after two games, and Payton II could return after just three. In their absence, Cory Joseph should see some minutes as the backup point guard, with Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski filling the backup minutes on the wing.
  • GSW Point Guard #3
Chris Paul (lower left leg nerve contusion) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Clippers.
Injured during the first quarter of Tuesday’s loss to the Kings, Paul will miss at least one game. As a result, Cory Joseph moved into the rotation and could remain there on Thursday. Brandin Podziemski would be a more promising streaming option, but the rookie isn’t guaranteed to get rotation minutes.
  • GSW Point Guard #3
Chris Paul (lower left leg soreness) has been ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday’s game against Sacramento.
Paul appeared to tweak something in his leg during the first quarter, heading back to the locker room in between the first and second periods. He has since been ruled out for the remainder of the night, and Cory Joseph has moved into the back end of the rotation. Joseph won’t be worth streaming if Paul has to miss an extended period of time.
