Devin Booker (calf) is out for Sunday’s game against the Kings.
Booker will sit out Sunday’s season finale with a sore calf. While expected co-stars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal did not hit 65 games due to injuries, Book made 75 appearances and provided top-25 value in eight-cat formats. He’s a safe bet to offer that production level, but it’s pretty clear that significant changes need to be made in Phoenix this offseason. Whether or not that involves Booker remains to be seen. Collin Gillespie should move into the starting lineup on Sunday.
  • PHX Point Guard #12
Collin Gillespie recorded 13 points (4-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and three three-pointers in 22 minutes in Friday’s win over the Spurs.
Gillespie remains on a two-way contract, making games like Friday’s extremely important as he looks to carve out a consistent role. He played well enough over the past month to earn rotation minutes in Phoenix, but the franchise appears to be headed for significant changes once this disappointing season concludes. Sunday’s game in Sacramento should allow Gillespie to log substantial minutes, especially if the Suns sit Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
  • PHX Point Guard #12
Collin Gillespie amassed 17 points (6-of-9 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, two steals and three three-pointers in 23 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Thunder.
Gillespie had a good night off the bench for the Suns, but it wasn’t enough to keep the team from being eliminated from postseason contention. While not much of a fantasy asset for the season, Gillespie has been a top-100 player in eight- and nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. Given the state of Phoenix’s season, he’s worth adding to active league rosters ahead of the team’s final two games. The team’s established veterans may not play much against the Spurs and Pelicans now that there’s nothing on the line besides pride.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #3
Bradley Beal played 39 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Thunder, finishing with 25 points (8-of-17 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), one rebound, four assists, one steal and four three-pointers.
Beal’s 25 points were the most he’s scored in a game in nearly a month, as he hit that number in a March 12 loss to the Rockets. Unfortunately, the performance came in a defeat, and Phoenix was eliminated from postseason contention. To say this has been a disappointing season for Beal would be an understatement; his availability was a constant issue, and the veteran guard’s production did not meet expectations when he did play. With the playoffs no longer a possibility, Beal managers in active leagues may want to mine the Suns’ roster for options who have a greater chance of playing in the team’s final two games. Collin Gillespie (17/6/4/2 with three three-pointers) would qualify.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #3
Bradley Beal (hamstring) and Royce O’Neale (illness) are not on the injury report against the Celtics on Friday.
Beal had missed the last eight games for the Suns, while O’Neale had only missed one game. Collin Gillespie had been starting in place of Beal, but with Kevin Durant (ankle) sidelined, he may remain in the starting lineup. Grayson Allen started in the Suns’ last game and had a season-high 23 points. Beal should start, with Gillespie, Allen and O’Neale all potentially filling the final open starting spot. The two that are left out should play a large role off the bench.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #3
Bradley Beal (hamstring) is expected to return to action on Friday against the Celtics.
Beal has missed Phoenix’s last eight games, last seeing action March 16 against the Lakers. His return would coincide with Kevin Durant’s continued absence, with KD set to miss a few more games with a sprained ankle. Grayson Allen replaced Durant in the lineup for Tuesday’s loss to the Bucks and was productive, scoring 23 points. He and Collin Gillespie will see their playing time take a hit if Beal is cleared to play on Friday.
  • PHX Point Guard #12
Collin Gillespie turned in a solid line on Tuesday with 18 points (6-of-12 FGs), two rebounds, four assists, two steals and four three-pointers against the Bucks.
This was Gillespie’s eighth-straight game in the starting lineup, and after scoring just three points on Sunday, he was more effective on Tuesday, though the result was the same. Phoenix dropped a fourth-straight game despite Gillespie having a better night. He did most of his work in the first half, scoring 11 points before the break. As long as Bradley Beal (hamstring) remains sidelined, Gillespie should remain in the starting unit, though his production has been inconsistent, making him a difficult player to rely on.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #3
Bradley Beal (hamstring) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Bucks.
Beal has missed the last seven games with a hamstring injury and has a legitimate chance to miss Tuesday’s matchup with the Bucks given his questionable listing. Collin Gillespie could continue to take his spot in the starting lineup while Ryan Dunn has offered more fantasy value in Beal’s absence.
  • PHX Point Guard #12
Collin Gillespie managed 22 points, five rebounds, 10 assists, a steal and four three-pointers across 26 minutes in Friday’s 124-109 loss to the Timberwolves.
Making his sixth straight start, Gillespie had the game of his life. The second-year man posted career highs in points and dimes and recorded his first career double-double. Games like this won’t be a regular occurrence for Gillespie, so temper expectations moving forward.
  • PHX Shooting Guard #3
Bradley Beal (hamstring) has been ruled out against the Timberwolves on Friday.
This will be a sixth-straight absence for Beal, and there is currently no end in sight. Collin Gillespie should continue to start in place of Beal, but he hasn’t been able to offer much fantasy production. However, rookie Ryan Dunn has shined recently and provided top-100 value in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks.
