Cole Aldrich will start against the Jazz on Friday.
He should get big minutes tonight. While it’s a terrible matchup, Aldrich is still a nice option in DFS and as a streaming option.

  • ATL Center #45
The Hawks have waived Cole Aldrich.
He’s expected to sign with a team in China, and this could be the end of Aldrich’s career in the NBA.
  • ATL Center #45
Cole Aldrich is expected to sign a contract to play in China this season.
The Wolves waived Aldrich back in June and he was unable to find a team willing to offer a guaranteed contract. He agreed to a training camp deal with Atlanta earlier this month, but it looks like he will sign for a larger payday overseas.
  • ATL Center #45
Cole Aldrich (personal) did not travel with the Thunder on Tuesday and his status for Wednesday’s game is unknown.
Aldrich has appeared in five games this season and is averaging less than five minutes of playing time per game, rendering him completely irrelevant in fantasyland.
  • ATL Center #45
Cole Aldrich (personal) returned to the Thunder on Wednesday.
He picked up a DNP-Coach’s Decision after coming back from visiting his grandfather. Aldrich will continue to serve as depth at the end of the bench and nothing more.
  • OKC Center #13
Nazr Mohammed, who will be an unrestricted FA this summer, said he is “hoping to be back” with the Thunder next season.
Mohammed appeared in all but three regular season games this season, giving OKC solid minutes in relief of Kendrick Perkins. The Thunder might decide to make room for center Cole Aldrich (the No. 11 pick in 2010), but adding Nazr for the veteran’s minimum would be a low-risk decision.
  • ATL Center #45
Thunder center Cole Aldrich could be Kendrick Perkins’ primary backup for the Thunder this season, though he faces competition from Hasheem Thabeet and Daniel Orton.
Perkins had wrist and groin surgeries this summer, but he’s expected to be fully healthy for the regular season. “The center position over here is mine and that’s the way we’re going to keep it,” said Perkins. As long as he’s healthy, there’s no reason to bother with Aldrich, Thabeet or Orton in fantasy leagues.
  • ATL Center #45
Cole Aldrich double-doubled again in another start at center for injured Kendrick Perkins (groin, wrist) in Friday’s exhibition game against the Jazz, scoring 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 10 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in 32 minutes.
Aldrich has practically no shot of replacing Perk in the starting lineup, but it’s not out of the question that he could cut into the declining veteran’s minutes. Even if Aldrich can crack the unbreakable bond between Perkins and Scott Brooks, he’d be in a timeshare at best. Of course, in a sane world the duo would only total 20-25 minutes unless a larger opposing center was on the docket.
  • MIN Center #4
Greg Smith (left foot) will not play against the Blazers on Saturday.
He injured his foot on Wednesday and was playing well as the primary backup to Omer Asik. Asik has played 34 minutes per game in the first two contests and should continue to rack up the boards and blocks. Cole Aldrich will be the main backup at center.
  • ATL Center #45
Cole Aldrich (ankle) is available to play on Saturday night against the Jazz.
Aldrich suffered a sprained right ankle back on November 19. He has been playing just 8.6 minutes per game and is not an option as he shares backup duties with Greg Smith.
