Chicago Bulls waived Torrey Craig and Chris Duarte.
This was to be expected. Chicago waived Craig and Duarte to make room on its roster for Tre Jones, Kevin Huerter and Zach Collins after the trade headlined by De’Aaron Fox and Zach LaVine became official. Craig is likely to draw interest from a contending team in need of wing depth.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #27
Chris Duarte (personal reasons) is off the injury report ahead of Monday’s matchup with the Nuggets.
Duarte will be available after a four-game absence, but he’s averaging just under five minutes per game this season, so this news won’t have any actionable consequences for fantasy managers.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #27
Chris Duarte (personal reasons) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Philadelphia.
Duarte has missed their last few games and will remain sidelined against the 76ers. He is expected to rejoin the team on Sunday, so he should be back against Denver on Monday. However, he won’t have much of an impact in fantasy basketball.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #27
Chris Duarte (personal) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Duarte has been away from the Bulls recently for personal reasons, but he may rejoin the team for Saturday’s contest. However, this will not impact fantasy basketball, as Duarte wasn’t in the rotation when available.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #27
Chris Duarte will miss Thursday’s game against the Warriors for personal reasons.
Duarte remains away from the Kings as he attends to a personal matter. He was not in the rotation when he was available to play.
  • CHI Shooting Guard #27
Chris Duarte will miss Sunday’s game against Portland for personal reasons.
Duarte has not been in the Bulls’ rotation when available, so his absence will not impact fantasy basketball. Hopefully, he’ll be able to rejoin his teammates soon.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Kings have traded Chris Duarte, two second-round picks, and cash to the Bulls as part of a three-team deal for DeMar DeRozan.
In exchange for DeRozan, who has agreed to a three-year, $74 million deal, the Kings sent Harrison Barnes to the Spurs and Duarte, two second-round picks, and cash to Chicago. Initially competing with Kevin Huerter for a spot in the starting lineup last season, Duarte was injured during the preseason and never seemed to get back on track. He appeared in 59 games, averaging a career-low 3.9 points while shooting 38.1% from the field. If Chicago embraces a rebuild, there could be opportunities for Duarte to prove himself, but he is not worth selecting in fantasy drafts.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #0
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Malik Monk has been diagnosed with a sprained right MCL and will miss 4 to 6 weeks.
Monk injured his knee during the first half of Friday’s loss to the Kings. The reported timeline means the Kings will need to go in a run in the Western Conference playoffs if Monk is to play again this season. As for fantasy basketball, his absence makes it even more critical that managers add Keon Ellis. Kessler Edwards and Chris Duarte are also available for more rotation minutes, but Ellis is the play here.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #0
Malik Monk (right knee) will not return to Friday’s game against Dallas.
Monk exited this game after Luka Doncic fell on his leg during a drive. With Monk sidelined, Chris Duarte and Keon Ellis will fill out extra guard minutes for the rest of this game.
  • SAC Shooting Guard #9
Kevin Huerter will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
As expected, Huerter will not return this season, though he is expected to make a full recovery before the 2024-25 season. Keon Ellis should be their starting shooting guard for the rest of the year and provide them with an excellent defense on the perimeter. That should also mean extra minutes for Chris Duarte off the bench, though Malik Monk will still be the primary reserve option.
