Bub Carrington shot 6-of-18 from the field in Sunday’s win over the Heat, recording 15 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal and three three-pointers in 41 minutes.
Wizards fans who began Sunday hoping to see their team strengthen their odds of landing the first overall pick in this summer’s draft may not have been thrilled with Carrington’s heroics. However, it was a nice end to a difficult season for the rookie guard. Bub didn’t shoot the ball well in Miami but made the decisive play when it mattered most. Carrington also made some history on Sunday, becoming the first Wizards rookie to play all 82 games since Jeff Ruland in 1981-82. Carrington made 57 starts this season; holding onto that role would raise Bub’s fantasy ceiling in 2025-26, but he’ll need to shoot better than 40.3 percent from the floor to be a useful fantasy player.

Jordan Poole (elbow) and Richaun Holmes (shoulder) are out for Sunday’s game against the Heat.
Poole and Holmes will not be available for Sunday’s season finale, with the former’s absence being more impactful. Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson have been the starting guards, which will likely remain the case against the Heat. Poole’s 2024-25 season was very good for him, even if the individual resurgence did not result in more wins for the Wizards. As for Holmes, he had a limited impact on fantasy basketball and is unlikely to be a draftable player in most fantasy leagues next fall.

Bub Carrington recorded a double-double on Friday with 18 points (7-of-15 FGs), five rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two three-pointers against the Bulls.
The rookie set a new career-high for assists on his way to the second point-assist double-double of his career. Carrington has scored in double figures in each of his last six games and has had at least six assists in six of his last seven games. The 2024 lottery pick has had a strong rookie season and will wrap things up in Miami on Sunday. Depending on how the draft lottery shakes out, Carrington could be an intriguing option heading into next season.

Bub Carrington logged 26 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers, accumulating 12 points (4-of-6 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, six assists and two three-pointers.
Carrington has recorded at least six assists in five of his last six outings and hit double figures in scoring in five straight. While the production hasn’t been prolific, the rookie guard is worth rostering in active leagues. The Wizards play on Friday and Sunday to end their season, and Carrington should be in the starting lineup for both.

Bub Carrington amassed 14 points (6-of-16 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, six assists, one block and one three-pointer in 41 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Celtics.
Carrington had a rough night from beyond the arc, making just one of his eight attempts. Those struggles negatively impacted his overall field-goal percentage, but the rookie did record six assists without committing a turnover. While Jordan Poole (15/2/5 with two three-pointers) continues to start, Carrington’s place in the lineup is secure, and he’s playing heavy minutes. For those whose leagues will be active during Week 23, Bub is worth the risk in deeper formats.

Carlton Carrington had 32 points (12-of-18 FGs), nine rebounds, seven assists and seven three-pointers against the Magic on Thursday.
Carrington went off for a career-high 32 points against the Magic Thursday. The 19-year-old rookie had only one previous game with at least 20 points, which came when he scored 23 points on February 8 against the Hawks. Carrington took full advantage of Jordan Poole and Khris Middleton being out of the lineup and was a great streaming option on a night with only six games across the league.

Jordan Poole (elbow) is out for Thursday’s game against the Magic.
Thursday’s game is the second in as many nights for the Wizards, so Poole will not play. His absence means even more time on the ball for Bub Carrington and AJ Johnson, which raises the fantasy ceilings of both rookies. And on a six-game night, fantasy managers should not hesitate to stream either, although Carrington should be the priority add.

Bub Carrington finished Wednesday’s win over the Kings with 19 points (6-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, seven assists and five three-pointers in 41 minutes.
After struggling in 38 minutes on the floor in Monday’s blowout loss to the Heat, Carrington was better against the Kings. Shooting just under 50 percent from the field, the rookie’s 19 points were the most in a game for him since February 8. Over the past two weeks, Carrington has been ranked just outside the top 150 in eight-cat formats, as shooting 36.7 percent from the field has not done him any favors. For managers who can afford to take a hit in that category, Carrington playing starters’ minutes improves his chances of having another night like Wednesday before the season ends.

Bub Carrington recorded a double-double on Monday with 15 points (6-of-15 FGs), 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals and one three-pointer against the Raptors.
The last few games for Carrington have been subpar, so it was good to see him get back on track in this one. He recorded the third point-rebound double-double of his career and set a new career-high for rebounds. He was also able to score in double figures after scoring a total of 15 points over his last four games. Carrington has shown plenty of upside during his first year in the NBA, and he won’t turn 20 until after this upcoming Summer League. He certainly has a bright future in Washington.

Bub Carrington, Jordan Poole, Khris Middleton, Kyshawn George and Alexandre Sarr will start Monday’s game against the Raptors.
Middleton is back after sitting out Saturday’s loss to the Knicks. However, his return does not mean Carrington will head to the bench. Instead, Justin Champagnie will be used in a reserve role, which lowers his fantasy ceiling. However, he will remain in the rotation and play enough minutes to be streamed in deeper leagues.
