According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Bulls have waived Carlik Jones.
Jones spent last season with the Bulls on a two-way contract and was in training camp on a non-guaranteed deal. Had he made the opening night roster, $250,000 of his deal would have been guaranteed. Jones’ departure doesn’t impact fantasy basketball, as he was unlikely to crack the rotation. In addition to retaining Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Alex Caruso, the Bulls signed Jevon Carter to a deal this summer.

Zach LaVine accounted for 17 points (6-of-15 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), three rebounds, two assists, and one 3-pointer in Sunday’s 103-81 win over the Pistons, playing 26 minutes.
LaVine played the most of any of Chicago’s five starters, with DeMar DeRozan (16/2/5/1 with one 3-pointer) and Patrick Beverley (2/2/4/3/1) logging 24 minutes apiece. There wasn’t much need to push those guys any further, as the Bulls visit Toronto for a play-in game on Wednesday. Carlik Jones (11/1/3/1 with one 3-pointer) and Dalen Terry (10/3/1/3/1) reached double figures off the bench, but they won’t be part of the rotation later this week or into the postseason should the Bulls qualify. The winner of Wednesday’s game will visit the loser of Tuesday’s game between Atlanta and Miami for the right to be the 8-seed in the East.

The Bulls are converting Carlik Jones’ two-way contract into a full deal for the rest of the season, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Jones has shined for the Windy City Bulls, as he was named the G-League player of the month in February. He’ll be with Chicago for the rest of the year, but it’s unlikely that he sees enough minutes to be worth fantasy consideration in any format.

  • OKC Shooting Guard #9
Alex Caruso (left midfoot soreness) has been listed as out Thursday vs the Bucks.
After suiting up in Wednesday’s loss to the Pacers, Caruso won’t be active for the second half of the team’s back-to-back. With DeMar DeRozan and Goran Dragic also out, look for Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White to have increased scoring roles. Carlik Jones is another guy who could see rotation minutes Thursday night.

  • NBA Point Guard #7
Goran Dragic (left knee soreness) has been listed as out for Thursday’s game against the Bucks.
Like teammate DeMar DeRozan, Dragic will miss the team’s last two games heading into All-Star weekend due to injury. Dragic hasn’t been much of a contributor for Chicago over the past month but his, along with a few other Bulls absences Thursday, could open the door for Carlik Jones and Dalen Terry to see some burn.

  • FA Point Guard #7
The Bulls have signed Carlik Jones to a two-way contract.
With Lonzo Ball (knee) not having a timeline for a return to action and Ayo Dosunmu dealing with a pelvic contusion, the Bulls are a bit light on the perimeter. Hence the decision to sign Jones, who’s still unlikely to play credible rotation minutes. In order to make room for Jones, the Bulls have waived Kostas Antetokounmpo.

  • FA Point Guard #7
The Bulls have signed free agent guard Carlik Jones to a fully non-guaranteed one-year contract.
Jones will join the Bulls at training camp in hopes of making the roster, but this move has no real fantasy implications.

  • FA Point Guard #7
Carlik Jones made all seven of his field-goal attempts in Tuesday’s 93-83 win over the Raptors, tallying 17 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.
Chicago got off to a slow start on Tuesday, but Jones made sure that they weren’t on the receiving end of another blowout (as was the case against the Knicks on Sunday). He made all seven of his field-goal attempts while also dishing out five assists, running the show capably for the “Summer Bulls.” Jones doesn’t have a guaranteed contract for next season, so playing well in Vegas will go a long way towards either getting him a training camp spot or a contract overseas.

The Dallas Mavericks are signing Carlik Jones to a 10-day hardship deal, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The former Louisville Cardinal has spent time this season with the Mavericks G-League affiliate, the Texas Legends. He will now get his cup of tea in the NBA, but is not expected to do much from a fantasy basketball standpoint. Leave him on the wire.
