Cameron Johnson (back) is out against the Knicks on Sunday.
Johnson hasn’t played since March 29 and won’t return for the regular season finale, which isn’t surprising. Trendon Watford and Tosan Evbuomwan will continue to fill out plenty of minutes at the forward spots.
  • BKN Small Forward #22
Jalen Wilson amassed 14 points (5-of-12 FGs), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and four three-pointers in 35 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Timberwolves.
After dropping 20 points in Thursday’s loss to the Hawks, Wilson cooled off a bit on Friday. However, he still offered value in the rebound and three-point categories, and the second-year forward has reached double figures in four of his last five appearances. Starter Cameron Johnson has not appeared in a game since March 29. While he hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Knicks yet, it’s challenging to envision Cam playing. Wilson’s chances of starting the regular-season finale are pretty high, and he would be worth rostering in active leagues.

Cameron Johnson (back) is out for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Johnson has not appeared in a game since March 29, and that won’t change on Friday. The Nets forward won’t even travel with the team; instead, he will remain in Brooklyn. Trendon Watford and Tosan Evbuomwan will continue to handle the minutes that would have gone to Johnson, with the former sticking in the starting lineup.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson (back) and Keon Johnson (rest) are out for Tuesday’s game against the Pelicans.
While Keon will get a rest day on Tuesday, Cameron will miss a fourth-straight game with a back injury. Trendon Watford will likely remain in the starting lineup, while Johnson’s absence frees up additional minutes for Dariq Whitehead and Maxwell Lewis. One of those two will likely move into the starting five, raising their streaming value in leagues that remain active.
  • BKN Small Forward #0
Dariq Whitehead logged 27 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Raptors, finishing with 13 points (5-of-12 FGs), four rebounds, three assists and three three-pointers.
While he has not been a fantasy asset during his first two NBA seasons, Whitehead has recently been given more opportunities to show what he can do. After scoring 17 points in an April 3 loss to the Timberwolves, the second-year guard has reached double figures in two straight games for the first time. There’s no need to add Whitehead now, but he’ll have value if the Nets decide to shut down Cameron Johnson. At this point, it would be somewhat surprising if they didn’t hold out the veteran wing for the season’s final week.

Cameron Johnson (back) and Day’Ron Sharpe (knee) have been ruled out against the Raptors on Sunday.
The only other update that head coach Jordi Fernandez provided was that they haven’t made a decision on D’Angelo Russell’s status for their matchup with Toronto, though he is still dealing with soreness in his ankle. Depending on that statuses of Jalen Wilson and Ziaire Williams, Trendon Watford and Maxwell Lewis could be in line for another starting nod.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson (back) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Johnson sat against the Mavericks with a hip injury and will now miss a second-straight contest with a different ailment. Jalen Wilson will likely continue starting in his place against Minnesota.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson (hip) is out for Monday’s matchup with Dallas.
Johnson’s absence frees up additional minutes for the likes of Ziaire Williams and Jalen Wilson. The Nets’ next game is Thursday against the Timberwolves, which will be Johnson’s next chance to take the court.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson (hip) is questionable for Monday’s matchup with the Mavericks.
Noah Clowney (ankle) is out. Brooklyn’s frontcourt rotation will be thin on Monday, which means Jalen Wilson and Drew Timme could see increased run.
  • BKN Small Forward #2
Cameron Johnson had 18 points (5-of-10 FGs), nine rebounds, seven assists and one three-pointer in the Nets’ 115-112 victory over the Wizards on Saturday.
Johnson had an excellent game with 18 points on 10 shots and was just one rebound and three assists away from a triple-double. He only played 24 minutes after taking a hard fall on his back in the second half of the game. It’s unclear what his availability will be going forward, but this is certainly an excuse for the Nets to shut Johnson down for the rest of the season. Jalen Wilson and Trendon Watford could see more playing time if that were the case.
