ESPN’s Shams Charania reports the Lakers are waiving Cam Reddish to free up a standard contract slot for Jordan Goodwin.
While Goodwin has been part of the Lakers’ rotation this season, Reddish has not. And with it being reported Thursday afternoon that the former was being converted from a two-way to a standard contract, it makes sense that the latter would be waived to free up space. Reddish appeared in 33 games this season, averaging 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in 17.8 minutes. It will be interesting to see if he can catch on with a non-contending team before the end of the season.

Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) and Jarred Vanderbilt (groin) have been ruled out against the Bucks on Thursday.
Both forwards were initially doubtful, so it isn’t surprising that they’ve been ruled out. Markieff Morris will get the start in place of DFS, but Cam Reddish should also make a return to the rotation for the shorthanded Lakers.

Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) and Jarred Vanderbilt (groin) are doubtful to play against the Bucks on Thursday.
Both forwards are expected to be sidelined for the second leg of the Lakers’ back-to-back. Cam Reddish and Markieff Morris are both candidates to return to the rotation, but at this point, everyone available for the Lakers should play a ton of minutes.

Cam Reddish (personal) is off the injury report ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Hornets.
Reddish missed a few games prior to the All-Star break with personal reasons. The 25-year-old small forward was a throw-in in the now-rescinded trade with the Hornets that would’ve sent Mark Williams to the Lakers. Los Angeles’ meeting with Charlotte Wednesday is awkward for everyone involved. Reddish had already fallen out of the Lakers’ rotation and won’t be fantasy-relevant as long as he’s stuck in LA.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Saturday that the Hornets have not filed a protest over the rescinded trade that would have sent Mark Williams to the Lakers.
Williams, who was initially traded to the Lakers at the February 6 deadline, was not with the Hornets for any of their three games before the All-Star break after the deal was rescinded. While it was reported on February 11 that the Hornets were exploring their options with the league, the franchise has not filed a protest with the NBA. “No. Charlotte has not filed a protest of any kind,” Silver said Saturday. “I think the larger issue is if there is a different standard of sort in terms of players passing physicals in trades. It’s something we should look at as a league.” It’s unknown if Williams will rejoin the Hornets after the break, with the team’s first game being against the Lakers on Wednesday in a makeup of the matchup that was postponed due to the January wildfires in Los Angeles County.

The Hornets have been in talks with the NBA to explore options to dispute the Lakers’ decision to rescind last week’s trade involving Mark Williams.
Just before Thursday’s trade deadline, the Hornets agreed to send Williams to Los Angeles in exchange for Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, the right to swap 2030 first-round picks, and the Lakers’ unprotected 2031 first-round pick. However, Williams failed his physical, and with that occurring after the deadline, there were only two options: stick with the trade or rescind it. The Lakers chose the latter option on Saturday. One day after issuing a press release in which they welcomed Williams back to Charlotte, the team is now exploring its options concerning disputing the Lakers’ decision. Williams was not with the team for Monday’s game against the Nets. Stay tuned.

Cam Reddish (personal) is out for Monday’s game against the Jazz.
Reddish was away from the Lakers for personal reasons before he was included in a trade that would have sent him to Charlotte. That deal has been rescinded due to Mark Williams failing his physical, but Reddish still isn’t ready to rejoin the Lakers. His continued absence does not impact fantasy basketball.

Thursday’s trade between the Hornets and Lakers was rescinded because a condition of the trade was not satisfied.
On Thursday, the Lakers traded Reddish, Dalton Knecht, their 2031 first-round pick, and a 2030 pick swap to the Hornets in exchange for Mark Williams. The trade, conditional on Williams and Knecht reporting to their new teams and passing their physicals, was rescinded on Saturday evening. The failed trade leaves the Lakers in a difficult spot regarding their center rotation. Currently the starting center, Jaxson Hayes is a must-add in fantasy leagues. As for Reddish, he had fallen out of the rotation before the trade, so there may not be much of a future for him in Los Angeles.

The Lakers announced Saturday that their trade with the Hornets has been rescinded due to failure to satisfy a condition of the trade.
Well, it looks like Williams is headed back to Charlotte. On Thursday, he was traded to the Lakers in exchange for Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 first, and a 2030 pick swap. Which side is to blame for the trade falling through is unknown, as Williams and Knecht needed to report to their new teams and pass their physicals to complete the transaction. The failed trade puts the Lakers in a difficult spot regarding their center rotation. Jaxson Hayes will remain the starter for the foreseeable future, and the question now is whether or not the Lakers will work Dalton Knecht back into the rotation.

Dalton Knecht and Jusuf Nurkic will not make their debuts for the Hornets against the Spurs on Friday.
Knecht and Nurkic were both dealt to Charlotte at the deadline, and their next chance to suit up for the Hornets will be in Detroit on Sunday. Cam Reddish was also acquired at the deadline, but he is out due to personal reasons. Moussa Diabate, DaQuan Jeffries and KJ Simpson should see plenty of minutes in this game, but only Diabate is worth rostering in most fantasy leagues.
