Jazz acquired G/F Brandon Rush via a trade with the Warriors.
Rush tore his ACL during the second game of last season and is questionable for training camp. If healthy, he’s a big wing that can help Utah’s outside shooting. If not, he won’t hurt them as he holds a $4 million contract that will expire in 2014.

  • ORL Shooting Guard #4
Arron Afflalo, Brandon Rush and Sean Kilpatrick all participated in a free-agent workout for the Sixers this week.
Also in attendance was Haywood Highsmith, who plays for the Sixers’ G League affiliate Delaware Blue Coats. Even if Philly does sign one of these guys, they’ll be nowhere near fantasy value.
  • POR Shooting Guard #21
Brandon Rush is scheduled for a workout with the 76ers.
The 76ers are in need of some shooters, and Rush could fit that bill. They’ll likely be bringing in a few players for workouts, but it’s unlikely whoever they sign will be relevant in fantasy hoops this season.

Richard Jefferson scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 6-of-10 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes.
The Warriors are reeling and Jefferson is a veteran that the team just made a pretty big financial commitment toward, so it makes sense that he’s finding his offense amidst a group of younger players. Brandon Rush scored nine points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in a ho-hum effort for those starting him in the five-game week, and Dorell Wright hit 3-of-7 shots for eight points, four rebounds, two steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers. There will likely be a different winner every night, but the trio should each see plenty of run.

Brandon Rush hit 3-of-8 shots for just 12 points, but added three rebounds, one assist, one steal, a block and two 3-pointers in a loss to the Hornets.
Rush has been feeling it lately and played 33 minutes tonight. Keep him in your lineup, and think about grabbing him if he’s available in your league. He’s averaging 13 points, five rebounds, two blocks, 1.6 3-pointers and 32 minutes over his last five.
  • POR Shooting Guard #21
Brandon Rush played just 18 minutes against the Jazz, scoring eight points on 3-of-6 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound and two steals.
There are some nice elements to this line, but Rush has hit a rough enough patch that a drop is (and has been) justifiable. If you’re hunting upside and able to stash, though, it might be worth a ‘hold’ just to see how he does leading into the Warriors’ four- and five-game weeks coming up. Admittedly, that’s a lot of ‘ifs.’
  • DEN Small Forward #22
Richard Jefferson returned to action on Wednesday from a sore knee and had seven points and a 3-pointer in 20 minutes.
He’s back, but the Warriors don’t have much incentive to give him heavy minutes. He’ll do more to hurt the value of Brandon Rush than he will offer any of his own.
  • POR Shooting Guard #21
Brandon Rush played 30 minutes, but had just 10 points, five rebounds, a block and a 3-pointer in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers.
Rush hasn’t been great this week, but is still getting minutes. He should break out of the funk soon.
  • MIA Small Forward #8
Dorell Wright scored 10 points on 3-of-7 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one assist in 24 minutes on Friday.
Meanwhile, Brandon Rush stunk up the joint with seven points on 2-of-9 shooting with four rebounds and a block in 33 minutes off the bench. This game does nothing to shed light on Wright’s fantasy situation, as it’s a usable line due to the 3-pointers and that’s about it. It’s probably best to bench Wright, and wait for his next hot streak.
  • DEN Small Forward #22
Richard Jefferson (knee) will not play on Saturday against the Clippers.
Following last night’s game against the Mavs, Jefferson experienced swelling in his right knee. After being evaluated by the team’s medical staff earlier Friday, he was scheduled to undergo an MRI later in the day. He’ll remain in the Bay Area for treatment and one has to wonder how hard the Warriors will push him to return. Dorell Wright and Brandon Rush are going to be worth watching as the team approaches a five-game week.
