Jock Landale (concussion) has been ruled out for Friday’s matchup with the Spurs.
It’s not ideal to face this Spurs team for the first time without your backup center, but that’s what the Rockets will have to do. Boban Marjanovic is the only other center option on the roster, so he may play a small role off the bench. We could also see Ime Udoka experiment with Jabari Smith at center in a small ball lineup, but Alperen Sengun will have to stay out of foul trouble in this game.

The Rockets have re-signed Boban Marjanović to a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Boban joined the Rockets last season as part of the deal that sent Christian Wood to Dallas. He played 5.5 minutes per game in 31 total appearances. He’s a great locker room guy and one of the most likeable players in the league. However, he isn’t doing much for fantasy teams.
  • Frank Kaminsky went scoreless (0-of-2 FGs) in Monday’s 123-104 loss to the 76ers, tallying one rebound, one assist, and one blocked shot.
With Danny Green (Cavaliers) and Justin Holiday (Mavericks) negotiating buyouts shortly after being traded to the Rockets, Kaminsky and Boban Marjanovic (seven points and one rebound in four minutes) are the Rockets’ most experienced remaining players. Both will be more valuable for shepherding along the team’s young core than they will be to fantasy managers. But you likely already knew that.

  • TOR Center #24
Bruno Fernando shot 0-of-2 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s 108-88 loss to the Knicks, scoring one point with five rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes.
Fernando made his first start since November on Saturday, as Alperen Sengun was ruled out with a sore back. And Bruno did not offer much value to the few brave souls who streamed him outside the rebounds and blocked shots. Usman Garuba had a better night despite coming off the bench, playing 19 minutes and finishing with five points, eight rebounds, and two blocks, and there was even a Boban Marjanovic (six points and three rebounds in eight minutes) sighting. But the true takeaway from Saturday was how valuable Sengun is to Houston’s interior rotation.

  • HOU Center #51
Boban Marjanovic has been traded to the Rockets as part of the Christian Wood trade.
Boban barely touched the floor last season but was a joy to watch every time it happened. He’s now entering his age-34 season and has one year and $3.5M left on his contract. If he ends up sticking around in Houston, playing time won’t be easy to find given their youth movement.

  • LAL Power Forward #35
The Rockets are trading Christian Wood to the Dallas Mavericks, Shams Charania reports.
The Mavericks will send the 26th pick to Houston in addition to Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke and Marquese Chriss. This trade can only be viewed as a good thing for Wood, as he gets a fresh start in Dallas without the threat of Alperen Sengun behind him. Playing alongside Luka Doncic has its perks too obviously, and those two should form a deadly partnership on offense. Wood will be playing in the final year of his contract so the Rockets were wise to get something back in return before they turned their frontcourt over to Sengun.

  • DAL Center #42
Maxi Kleber (right ankle soreness) “will be ready to go” for the playoffs, according to coach Jason Kidd.
Kleber has missed four straight games due to the injury, so it’s encouraging to hear Kidd definitively state that his big man will be ready for the postseason. He’s out on Sunday, so Dallas will be leaning more on Dwight Powell, Davis Bertans and Boban Marjanovic.

  • HOU Center #51
Boban Marjanovic is not listed on Wednesday’s injury report, so he should be available for Dallas’ game against Toronto.
Marjanovic hasn’t played since December 27th, and though he should be available Wednesday, there is no need to rush to pick him up. Leave him on the wire.

  • HOU Center #51
Boban Marjanovic (protocols) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bulls.
Marjanovic hasn’t played since Dec. 29th and while he cleared the protocols list Saturday afternoon, he has a questionable tag, as he may need a few days to get back into game shape. If he can’t go, it will not affect anything in fantasy hoops.

  • HOU Center #51
Boban Marjanovic (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against the Rockets.
When healthy, Marjanovic is not in the rotation on most nights. His absence will not have an impact as far as fantasy is concerned.
