Ben Uzoh has signed a one-year deal with the Italian team Fabi Shoes Montegranaro.
Uzoh will replace Edgar Sosa on the roster after the latter had a gruesome leg injury recently that will sideline him at least the next six months. Uzoh spent part of his rookie season with the New Jersey Nets after spending time in the NBDL. Uzoh, an unrestricted free agent, will not have an out clause in his contract to return to the NBA for 2011-12.
  • DEN Point Guard
Ben Uzoh made his Raptors debut on Wednesday and had five points in 13 minutes.
    Nothing to see here, folks.
  • DEN Point Guard
With Jose Calderon (eye) and Gary Forbes (knee) both sitting out Friday’s game, Ben Uzoh will get a rare start at PG for the Raptors.
Uzoh is only a recommended play in the deepest of fantasy leagues for Friday night.
  • DEN Point Guard
Raptors signed G Ben Uzoh to a second 10-day contract.
Uzoh will function as point guard depth behind Jose Calderon with Jerryd Bayless (oblique) done for the season, but there is no fantasy value to be found here.
  • DEN Point Guard
Ben Uzoh started at point guard for injured Jose Calderon (eye) on Friday against the Cavs, scoring nine points on 4-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes.
This should be considered a win for anybody that chose to spot-start Udoh tonight, and needless to say he won’t have any fantasy value unless both Calderon and Gary Forbes remain out.
  • DET Point Guard #81
Jose Calderon (eye) will not dress for Friday’s game against the Cavs.
Calderon left Wednesday’s game after getting an elbow to the face and had to receive stitches as a result. Owners need to make sure he’s sitting on the bench, and both Ben Uzoh and the newly-signed Justin Dentmon should both see extended minutes in his absence.
  • DEN Point Guard
Ben Uzoh started in place of Jose Calderon (eye) again on Wednesday, but finished with just three points on 1-of-4 shooting with five rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes of action.
Uzoh’s fantasy value is directly tied to the health of Calderon. Should Calderon continue to miss time, Uzoh will be worth starting despite tonight’s poor performance.
  • DAL Point Guard #7
ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that the Raptors are “lining up” a callup of Justin Dentmon by the end of the week.
Ben Uzoh’s 10-day deal is set to expire in the coming days with the Raptors, so this could be a sign that he won’t be back. Dentmon is currently back with the Austin Toros after playing briefly with the Spurs, but it sounds like he’ll return to the NBA shortly.
  • DET Point Guard #81
Jose Calderon (eye) has been ruled out for the Raptors game on Friday against the Celtics.
With Calderon out, Ben Uzoh will start and it looks like Justin Dentmon will be in line for an increase in minutes. In 21 minutes on Wednesday, Dentmon had five points, three rebounds and two assists. Neither Uzoh nor Dentmon is an option except in very deep leagues.

Ben Uzoh recorded his first career triple-double in the Raptors’ 98-67 blowout win over the Nets on Thursday, scoring 12 points on 6-of-19 shooting with 11 rebounds, a career-high 12 assists, four steals, and one block in 46 minutes.
This is a silly season result if we’ve ever seen one. Alan Anderson scored 20 points and hit five threes, giving category hunters a big push tonight.
