Vit Krejci finished Saturday’s loss to the Grizzlies with seven points (2-of-4 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes.

With Trae Young (heel) out, Krejci made his first start of the season on Saturday. He wasn’t a great streaming option beforehand, and that’s how things played out against the Grizzlies. Keaton Wallace (five points, one rebound, four assists, and one 3-pointer) played 23 minutes off the bench, and the Hawks also looked to get Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson more playmaking opportunities. If Young is not back for Monday’s game against the Timberwolves, fantasy managers should pass on Krejci.

Jalen Johnson amassed 13 points (4-of-12 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes in Saturday’s loss to Memphis.

With Trae Young (heel) sidelined, Johnson was one of the Hawks starters whose assist production was boosted on Saturday. The eight assists were two shy of his season-high and the fifth game in which Jalen racked up eight or more. After a breakout 2023-24 campaign, Johnson has continued to build on that, emerging as a key building block for the Hawks.

De’Andre Hunter (left ankle sprain) finished Saturday’s loss to the Grizzlies with 26 points (9-of-14 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), two rebounds, and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes.

Hunter tweaked his ankle during Saturday’s game but was back on the court to begin the fourth quarter. Production-wise, things played out the way they usually have for the Hawks wing. While he provides solid value in the points and field-goal percentage categories, there wasn’t much else on Saturday. Scoring-wise, Hunter has been one of the most productive reserves in the NBA this season. However, managers needing value in other categories may need to look elsewhere.
Dyson Daniels

ATL Shooting Guard #5

Dyson Daniels shot 6-of-9 from the field in Saturday’s 128-112 loss to the Grizzlies, scoring 15 points with three rebounds, six assists, six steals, one block, and three 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

Daniels has recorded five steals or more in seven games this season, with Saturday’s being the most recent. The assist production was also notable, as the Hawks were without Trae Young (heel). Daniels has accounted for five assists or more in seven games, including Saturday. The playmaking opportunities will be limited when Young plays, but assists are another area in which Daniels can provide value when the Hawks are without their star point guard.

Vit Krejci, Dyson Daniels, Zaccharie Risacher, Jalen Johnson, and Clint Capela will start Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Krejci will make his first start of the season on Saturday, stepping in for the injured Trae Young. Keaton Wallace, who was called up from the G League, should play rotation minutes in a reserve role, but Krejci is the player managers in deep leagues should focus on.

Young was initially questionable for Saturday’s game, and his absence leaves the Hawks down multiple playmakers (Kobe Bufkin is out for the season). Vit Krejci will figure more prominently in the rotation, potentially as a starter. Dyson Daniels and Bogdan Bogdanovic will also have more opportunities to initiate offense for the shorthanded Hawks.

Trae Young (left heel contusion) is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Young has consistently shown up on recent injury reports, but that was due to lingering tendinitis in his right Achilles tendon. This heel injury is a different situation, so his status for Saturday appears to be in some question. With Kobe Bufkin done for the season, Vit Krejci will figure more prominently in the rotation if Young is limited or cannot play.

Jalen Johnson stuffed the stat sheet on Thursday with 22 points (8-of-14 FGs), nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, three blocks and one triple against the Spurs.

Johnson had a couple of poor shooting nights before this game, but that wasn’t an issue for him in this one. He provided his typical well-rounded production and was far more efficient. He had shot 1-of-9 from deep over his last two games, so he only took one in this one, which was a big make late in the fourth quarter. Johnson has been one of the best players in fantasy basketabll despite a slow start, and he currently ranks in the top-20 in 9-cat leagues. They’ll close out the week with Memphis coming to town on Saturday.
Larry Nance Jr.

ATL Power Forward #22

Larry Nance Jr. provided a boost off the bench with 21 points (8-of-13 FGs), 13 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and five 3-pointers against San Antonio on Thursday.

With Onyeka Okongwu set to miss at least three more games, Nance should be a safe streaming option. Minutes haven’t been there when OO and Clint Capela are both healthy, but he played 31 minutes in this one and closed the game out in the fourth quarter and overtime while Capela only played 22 minutes. Nance’s floor spacing ability worked well with Trae Young in pick and pop sets, and he had a monster performance off the bench. He is available in 98% of Yahoo leagues, which will likely change quickly.
De'Andre Hunter

ATL Small Forward #12

De’Andre Hunter led Atlanta with 27 points (9-of-15 FGs), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers against the Spurs on Thursday.

Hunter has thrived as a reserve for Atlanta this season, and he had arguably his best performance of the season in this one. He scored a season-high 27 points and 12 of those in overtime, which included a poster dunk on Victor Wembanyama to tie the game and force overtime. Hunter’s lack of defensive stats still limits his 9-cat impact, but his career-highs in points, 3-pointers and free throw percentage have allowed him to rank in the top-100. He’ll certainly be a contender for Sixth Man of the Year if he continues to play this well.
