  • CHA Shooting Guard #10
Amari Bailey is active for the Hornets’ Wednesday game against the Hawks.
Bailey has missed the Hornets’ previous six games but has finally gotten over the illness that’s kept him off the court. However, he isn’t likely to play enough to impact fantasy basketball now that he’s healthy.

Amari Bailey (illness) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Mavericks.
Bailey has only appeared in eight games as a rookie, so his status will not impact fantasy basketball or the Hornets’ rotation.

Amari Bailey (illness) will not play in Sunday’s game against the Thunder.
Bailey’s continued absence does not impact the Hornets’ rotation or fantasy basketball.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #10
Amari Bailey (illness) is doubtful to play against the Thunder on Sunday.
Bailey is expected to be sidelined once again, but even when he is healthy, he doesn’t see enough minutes to impact fantasy basketball.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #10
Amari Bailey (illness) has been ruled out for Friday’s game against Orlando.
Bailey was initially doubtful for Friday’s game, so the status downgrade is unsurprising. The rookie out of UCLA has not been in the rotation when healthy, so this will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #10
Amari Bailey (illness) is listed as doubtful for Friday’s game against Orlando.
The rookie hasn’t seen the floor much even in a lost season for Charlotte, so his expected absence will not impact their rotation.
  • CHA Shooting Guard #2
James Bouknight (sprained left knee) will not play in Charlotte’s scrimmage on Saturday.
Bouknight reportedly suffered the knee sprain during training camp, which will keep him out of this game. He wasn’t a big part of Charlotte’s rotation last year, so his potential absence in their first preseason game shouldn’t open up a ton of minutes. However, Nick Smith Jr., Amari Bailey and Bryce McGowens should play larger roles in this scrimmage and potentially their first preseason game if Bouknight remains sidelined.
  • CHA Shooting Guard
Amari Bailey shot 7-of-14 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Saturday’s 109-92 win over the Timberwolves, scoring 17 points with three rebounds, three assists, one block, and two 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
Bailey capped his Summer League experience with a quality performance, shooting 50% from the field and falling one steal shy of a full stat line. And this effort came on the heels of the 41st overall pick signing a two-way contract. While Bailey does have promise as a pro, it’s going to be difficult for him to earn rotation minutes in training camp. Charlotte still has Terry Rozier on the roster, while former lottery pick James Bouknight should have every opportunity to show that he can take on rotation minutes after two disappointing seasons.
  • CHA Small Forward #24
Brandon Miller accounted for six points (2-of-4 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), four rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 28 minutes in Wednesday’s 98-83 loss to the Warriors.
Miller again found himself in early foul trouble, but the bigger concern may be the lack of aggression in looking for his shot. The second-overall pick only attempted four shots on the night, which is likely way too low of a number as far as Hornets’ decision-makers are concerned. The good news is that he did rack up a team-high seven assists, so some of Miller’s playmaking abilities were on display. He’ll need to be more active as a scorer in Las Vegas this weekend. Fellow rookie Amari Bailey played well off the bench, finishing with a team-high 17 points while also grabbing four rebounds in 17 minutes.
