Peyton Watson got the start on Wednesday and finished with 10 points (4-of-9 FGs), three rebounds, three assists, one steal, three blocks and one triple against Oklahoma City.
Aaron Gordon is set to miss 2-4 weeks with a calf strain, and Watson got the start in his place in this game. It wasn’t a spectacular first day, but it should be his job for a few weeks. He came up with a big block on a Shai Gilgeous-Alexander layup attempt on the final play that sealed the win for Denver, which came right after he missed two free throws that would’ve put the game away. He showed great resilience on that play, and he should continue to provide defensive numbers in an increased role for the next few weeks.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right calf strain) is expected to miss multiple weeks.
Gordon only played four minutes on Monday night before exiting, which gave us a good look at what things will look like with Peyton Watson filling the void. He finished with 16 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer in 31 minutes, which makes him a high-priority streaming option for the next few weeks. Hunter Tyson should be the backup power forward, though he didn’t do much in his 15 minutes on Monday.
  • DEN Small Forward #8
Peyton Watson provided a boost off the bench on Monday and contributed 16 points (4-of-7 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, two steals, three blocks and one 3-pointer against Toronto.
Aaron Gordon was only able to play four minutes in this game before exiting with a calf strain, which resulted in Peyton Watson logging 31 minutes and being part of the team’s closing lineup. The former first round pick has been lauded in dynasty formats, and he was able to give us a glimpse as to what things could look like if he was in a larger role consistently. If Gordon ends up missing more than just this game, Watson should be worth a pickup in his place. They host the Thunder on Wednesday, so keep an eye on the injury report.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right calf strain) will not return to Monday’s game against the Raptors.
Already dealing with a right knee contusion, Gordon injured his calf during the first quarter. The injury limited him to four minutes, with Peyton Watson’s playing time receiving a boost. With Jamal Murray (concussion) set to miss a few more games, the Nuggets can’t afford to be without Gordon for an extended period.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is available for Monday’s game against the Raptors.
As was the case for Saturday’s win over the Jazz, Gordon is available after initially being listed as probable. He’ll take on his usual responsibilities as a starter, so managers who have Gordon rostered need to ensure he’s in their lineups.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is probable for Monday’s game against the Raptors.
Gordon was given the same injury tag before Saturday’s win over the Jazz but still played 26 minutes. The minutes were impacted more by the game being a blowout than Gordon’s health. Unless things get out of hand, he’ll play starters’ minutes.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is available for Saturday’s game against Utah.
Gordon was initially probable for Saturday’s game, so the upgrade was expected. Denver will roll out a starting five that consists of Gordon, Russell Westbrook (starting for Jamal Murray), Christian Braun, Michael Porter Jr., and Nikola Jokic.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is probable for Saturday’s game against the Jazz.
Gordon was also probable ahead of Friday’s game against Minnesota, and he went on to have one of the best games of his NBA career. The tag suggests he’ll play, and this matchup could be a good one to get Gordon and Denver’s other starters additional rest, provided they put the Jazz away early.
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon played 38 minutes in Friday’s loss to Minnesota, scoring 31 points (11-of-18 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs) with 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and five 3-pointers.
Gordon shot 6-of-8 from the field in the first half of Friday’s game and did not cool down, finishing with a season-high 31 points. The 3-point shooting may have been the biggest revelation, as this was Gordon’s first game with five or more triples since March 19, 2021 (career-high seven as a member of the Magic). Due to the solid averages and higher-than-expected percentages, Gordon provides 3rd-round per-game value in 9-cat formats. Given Denver’s reliance on its starters, AG will have every opportunity to outperform his ADP (116).
  • DEN Power Forward #32
Aaron Gordon (right knee contusion) is available for Friday’s game against the Timberwolves.
The status upgrade was expected, with Gordon initially probable for Friday’s game. The Nuggets will roll out their usual starting lineup, with Gordon joining Jamal Murray, Christian Braun, Michael Porter Jr., and Nikola Jokic.
