JOLIET, Ill. - Tommy Baldwin Racing tweeted Sunday morning that Ty Dillon will drive in today’s Sprint Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway for Regan Smith.
Dillon replaced Smith on Friday after Smith’s wife went into labor. Smith left the track to return home for the birth of the couple’s second child. Smith tweeted Saturday “no baby yet.’'
This will be Dillon’s ninth Cup start of the season. His best finish is 15th at Phoenix early in the season.
