JD Motorsports owner Johnny Davis announced Thursday that Ross Chastain will return to drive its No. 4 Chevrolets in the 2016 Xfinity Series.
Chastain, who is currently 15th in the standings, has had an impressive rookie season in the Xfinity league, with four top-10 finishes and 18 top-20 showings in 31 starts.
His best finish to date has been ninth in the season-opening race at Daytona.
“I couldn’t be happier with what Ross has done this season,” Davis said in a media release. “He is a smart, young driver with unlimited potential. We knew from the first race at Daytona that we were going to be in for a good year with him.
“He’s been able to balance getting good finishes with protecting our cars and staying out of trouble, and we couldn’t ask for more. It’s going to be fun to go racing for another season with Ross.”
