Mark Martin turns back time on Throwback Thursday

NASCAR XFINITY Series Hisense 300 - Qualifying

Less than two months after he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Mark Martin did something way cool on Thursday.

Martin got into the Throwback Thursday mood by taking to Twitter and posting a press release from early 1986 extolling the racing success the then-27-year-old Martin had enjoyed to date -- long before his NASCAR career took off.

What made the tweet even cooler is it was co-written by veteran racing PR man Tom Roberts -- who went on to represent NASCAR drivers such as Rusty Wallace and Kurt Busch -- and a young racetrack promoter who has gone on to a spectacular career of his own.

You may have heard of the guy and the track he’s run for the last 21 years, since it first opened: Eddie Gossage and Texas Motor Speedway.
