After helping to close out the 2016 NASCAR season, singer Jordin Sparks will help launch the 2017 season in February.
A few days after being a presenter at the Sprint Cup Awards banquet in Las Vegas, Sparks will sing the National Anthem for the 59th Daytona 500, Daytona International Speedway announced.
The race is scheduled for Feb. 26.
“We’re thrilled to have Jordin Sparks be a part of the pre-race ceremonies and sing the National Anthem prior to the Daytona 500,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said in a press release. “Jordin is an incredible talent and we look forward to her rendition of the National Anthem before the start of the 59th ‘Great American Race.’”
Sparks, the season six winner of “American Idol,” will be promoting her faith-based film God Bless The Broken Road, which is set for release in early 2017.
