The first week of school can always be tough for students, but few had it as rough as Carter McMurray on Friday.
Jamie McMurray’s 6-year-old son needed stitches Friday while McMurray was at Bristol Motor Speedway preparing for Saturday night’s race (7 p.m. NBC).
“My son got his first set of stitches today,’’ McMurray said during a press conference Friday. “We ran into somebody in PE. We’re 6 and we’re a boy. That’s what happened. He’s pretty ornery. But I guess he ran into somebody during gym or something at school on his third day of school and cut his eye, so he had to get stitches. I FaceTimed him earlier and notified him that I’ve had numerous stitches on my face. It’s just part of being a boy.’’
