Goody’s will remain the sponsor of Martinsville Speedway’s fall NASCAR Sprint Cup race through 2016, the track announced Wednesday.
It will mark Goody’s 29th year of involvement with Martinsville and the 36th race at the historic half-mile track that the company has sponsored.
“The partnership with Martinsville and Goody’s is longstanding and got a lot of history, but it’s very fitting because Martinsville can be one of the toughest racetracks,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said in a statement. “I think a lot of drivers have walked out of there either taking a Goody’s or wanting, wishing they had a Goody’s after a race at Martinsville. It’s a tough old short track and win or lose, it can beat you up pretty good.’'
This year’s race, the Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500, is scheduled for Nov. 1 and will be shown by NBCSN.
