Martin Truex Jr.’s final full-time Cup season went by without him scoring a victory, but he had various chances.
That’s how Truex will look back upon the 2024 season, noting the “missed opportunities.”
The 44-year-old Truex, a future NASCAR Hall of Famer, will run select races in 2025. His ride in the No. 19 car for Joe Gibbs Racing will be filled by Chase Briscoe this coming season.

WHAT WENT WRONG: Had an eight-race stretch from Indianapolis to the Bristol playoff race where he did not finish better than 20th. Was eliminated from the playoffs in the first round.
MARTIN TRUEX JR. SAID: “Missed opportunities. Overall didn’t get the job done. Had a lot of speed. Had a lot of moments, lot of chances to win races. Led a decent amount of laps. All in all, it was alright, just didn’t get any trophies, which is what we’re really after.”
WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2025: Martin Truex Jr. will still race but it will be on his own schedule. The plan is for him to compete at Daytona with Cole Pearn back as his crew chief in February. What Truex does beyond that, remains to be announced.
