2024 NASCAR season in review: AJ Allmendinger

AJ Allmendinger rallied to make it to the Championship 4 in what was a challenging NASCAR Xfinity season for his Kaulig Racing team.

Allmendigner scored five wins in each of his previous two full-time seasons in Xfinity for the team (2021 and ’22) but had only one win this season. That win, though, secured a spot in the Championship 4.

CREW CHIEF: Alex Yontz

TEAM: Kaulig Racing

POINTS: 3rd

WINS: 1(Las Vegas II)

LAPS LED: 258

TOP 5s: 7

TOP 10s: 18

WHAT WENT RIGHT: Performances improved later in the season. He finished the year with seven top 10s, including a win, in the last 10 races.

WHAT WENT WRONG: He had 10 finishes outside the top 15. His total of wins, top fives and top 10s were his fewest in three full-time seasons in the Xfinity Series.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2025: Allmendinger moves up to the Cup Series for Kaulig Racing and there’s much work to do with that program.
