Just three days after the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (first NBCSN race for Verizon IndyCar Series this season on April 9), the teams and drivers of IndyCar will head to Texas Motor Speedway for a series open test.
INDYCAR confirmed the date of April 12 to give everyone a chance to run on the repaved circuit, which has a different banking level in Turns 1 and 2 versus 3 and 4.
The test occurs three days after Texas hosts its first race weekend of its 2017 season, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series races. The track recently released an update on the repave process.
The Rainguard Water Sealers 600, IndyCar’s lone 1.5-mile oval race of the year, occurs on June 9-10.
