Dylan Ferrandis joins Phoenix Racing Honda in 2024

Phoenix Racing Honda officially announced Dylan Ferrandis will join them for 2024.

“I’ve always wanted to race a Honda and Phoenix Racing has given me the opportunity to do so,” Ferrandis said in an Instagram post. “David Eller has been super nice with my situation and working towards building a program that will work for me. This includes working with Factory Connection (formerly Geico Honda), which is something that was very important for me in 2024.

“So far everything has been really great and the feeling on the bike is exactly what I was looking for. ... I really feel at home with him and the whole Phoenix Racing team. The vibe is awesome and I’m very thankful to be in this situation.”

For the past seven years Ferrandis has been part of the Yamaha program, but his severance from them was announced in early October when he thanked the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha team for their past support.

Afterward, Ferrandis was rumored to join HEP Motorsports on a Suzuki, the Factory Connection Honda team or most recently Phoenix Racing.

Ferrandis showed immediate success in the Pro Motocross outdoor series by winning the championship in his rookie season of 2021. That year he won six rounds and swept the podium. He finished second to Jett Lawrence in 2023.

Ferrandis’ Monster Energy Supercross career has been a different story, however. Plagued by injury, he missed much of the 2023 season after a hard crash in Houston and then suffered a second incident at Daytona during media day that left him concussed.

Despite coming into the 2023 Motocross season still in recovery, Ferrandis was Lawrence’s principal rival on several occasions.

“I really feel that together we can create the program that will help Dylan succeed,” said Phoenix Racing team owner David Eller in a press release. “The biggest excitement for me is that this gives Phoenix Racing the opportunity to be highly competitive in the premier series of our sport.

“My biggest surprise so far has been Dylan himself. We all know what he’s capable of on the bike but off the bike, he’s been very relaxed and has been a lot of fun to work with. He’s cutting up with our team and seems to have found a home with us.”
