Yu Darvish allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Friday.
Darvish gave up three hits, walked one and struck out four. In one of the biggest games in Japanese baseball history, one that featured Darvish, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani, Darvish once again pitched well against the vaunted Dodgers offense. He allowed a home run to Enrique Hernandez on a first pitch fastball in the second inning, which was the only run in the game for awhile. In the seventh inning, Teoscar Hernandez took him deep for another solo shot. If the Padres had scored any runs, let alone had the lead, there’s a good chance Darvish wouldn’t have still been pitching. Instead, the Padres finished the series not having scored in the last 24 innings. It’s tough to win like that.

Yu Darvish pitched seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Padres’ 10-2 rout of the Dodgers.
The Padres evened the series at 1-1 as they head home for Game 3 on Tuesday. Darvish struck out only three tonight, but he mostly produced soft contact and was aided by his defense, particularly when Jurickson Profar took a homer away from Mookie Betts. It’s the first time since May 19 that Darvish has completed seven innings. He improved to 5-6 with a 3.88 ERA in 12 career postseason starts.

Yu Darvish yielded three runs in 5 1/3 innings Friday in a win over the D-backs.
Darvish struck out four and walked three tonight. Seven of the 14 balls in play against him were hit hard, but he was able to hold Arizona to a solo homer and two singles anyway. We don’t have a ton of faith in him at this point, but at least he only needs to be the Padres’ fourth starter in the postseason. He ends the regular season 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA.

The Padres are bumping Martín Pérez and will have Yu Darvish start Friday against the Diamondbacks.
Pérez could start one of the following two days, but the Padres are listing those two games as TBAs right now. Thursday’s loss to the Dodgers ruined the Padres’ chances of winning the AL West, but they are locked in as the top Wild Card, meaning they’ll be hosting the D-backs, Mets or Braves next week.

Yu Darvish pitched 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball and struck out nine against the White Sox on Sunday.
The runs came on homers from Korey Lee and Miguel Vargas. Darvish allowed just one other hit and walked none in the contest. He’s set to face the Diamondbacks in his regular-season finale.

Yu Darvish fired six scoreless innings to get a win over the Astros on Monday.
Darvish only struck out three, but he also only gave up three hits in another efficient outing for the right-hander. He’s looked the part over his last two starts after his shaky return from the restricted list, even if he hasn’t piled up the strikeouts with eight in 13 innings. Darvish is a must-start over the weekend when the Padres take on the White Sox.

Yu Darvish allowed two runs over five innings and struck out five Tuesday versus the Mariners.
Darvish gave up homers to Cal Raleigh and Luke Raley, but they were solo shots and none of the other five hits he allowed did any damage. He wound up throwing just 63 pitches and had 12 whiffs with a fantastic 37% CSW. Darvish was credited the win, his first since coming off the IL last week. He’ll get the Astros next.

Yu Darvish allowed three runs with four strikeouts over 2 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Darvish made his return to the mound for the first time since late May after missing time with an elbow injury. He surrendered a solo homer to Matt Vierling in the first inning. A groundout with a runner on third brought a second run in to score in the second. Then a walk and base hit brought in a third run before Darvish was done with two outs in the third inning. The 38-year-old right-hander is in line to take on the Mariners in Seattle on Tuesday.

Padres activated RHP Yu Darvish from the 15-day injured list.
Darvish, who went down on May 29 with a groin injury, will pitch in a game for the first time in three months when he faces the Tigers tonight.

Padres manager Mike Shildt confirmed that Yu Darvish would come off the injured list and start Wednesday’s game.
Despite missing three months after injuring his groin, Darvish will return without an official rehab start, though he did get up to 66 pitches in his last simulated game. Since he’ll be facing the Tigers, he’s not the worst play in fantasy leagues. Still, we’d recommend waiting and seeing what he looks like. After all, even if he is good, he might not last long enough to qualify for a win. Darvish is taking the rotation spot opened up by Randy Vásquez’s latest demotion.
