Hernández has been cut loose by Milwaukee after batting .241/.333/.309 with two homers and 13 steals across 322 plate appearances this season for Triple-A Nashville. The versatile 26-year-old infielder, who has gotten into 69 games in the majors over the last four seasons between the Dodgers, Diamondbacks and Rangers, signed a minor league deal with the Brewers last November and never made it back to the big leagues.

Hernández is arguably the most notable inclusion after latching on with the Brewers last November on a minor league pact. Paredes and Zastryzny will remain with the club back at Triple-A Nashville as emergency relief depth.

Hernández spent the the 2023 season in the Dodgers’ organization, appearing in 14 games in the majors and hitting .252/.395/.342 with four homers and 17 steals over 93 games in Triple-A. The 25-year-old could be in the mix for a utility role in the spring.

The 25-year-old infielder had been designated for assignment, but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra infield depth for the Dodgers at the Triple-A level. This move freed up a spot for Kolten Wong to join the 40-man roster on Friday.

Hernández has been sent back to the minors with shortstop Amed Rosario set to join the Dodgers for Friday’s series opener against the Cubs.

It doesn’t come as a surprise, as Muncy sees most of his off-days with opposing left-handers on the hill. Yonny Hernandez will draw a rare start at the hot corner on Saturday night and will bat ninth for the Dodgers.

No surprise here as Muncy is being worked back into Los Angeles’ lineup after skipping a minor league rehab assignment altogether. It’ll be versatile Yonny Hernández getting the nod at the hot corner on Wednesday evening in Colorado.

With Chris Taylor (knee) landing on the injured list on Sunday, Hernández will get another opportunity to serve as infield depth for the big league club. The 25-year-old has hit .260/.407/.385 with two homers, 25 RBI and eight stolen bases in 47 games at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season.

Hernández has been shipped back to the minors with Mookie Betts making it to Chicago in time to be activated from the paternity leave list.

Like everyone else on the Dodgers’ depth chart at shortstop, the speedy Hernández has missed time with injury and had played in just four Triple-A games this season. He’ll cover a utility role until the team begin to get healthy.
