Angels reassigned RHP Kelvin Cáceres, RHP Dakota Hudson, RHP Camden Minacci, INF Yolmer Sánchez and OF Bryce Teodosio to minor league camp.
Hudson was signed to a minor league contract this offseason after pitching to a 6.17 ERA in 89 innings for the Rockies in 2024. He will serve as organizational depth, as will Teodosio, who stole 40 bases in Triple-A last year and could provide speed as a backup outfielder but is not currently on the 40-man roster.
  • LAA 2nd Baseman #45
Angels signed INF Yolmer Sánchez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sánchez heads to spring training with Los Angeles attempting to latch on in a bench role. The 32-year-old infielder hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since the 2022 season when he got into 17 contests between the Red Sox and Mets. He spent all of last year at Triple-A Syracuse in New York’s system, batting .226/.346/.393 with nine homers and nine steals in 399 plate appearances over 111 games.
  • Center Fielder #43
The Mets reassigned OFs Trayce Thompson and Ben Gamel, RHPs Kyle Crick, Cole Sulser and Yacksel Ríos and INF Yolmer Sánchez to minor league camp.
Thompson came into camp as a non-roster invite and after he slashed .250/.308/.583 with two home runs and six RBI, he’ll stay in the Mets’ farm system as a depth option for the outfield.
  • NYM 3rd Baseman #45
Mets signed INF Yolmer Sánchez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sánchez spent last year with the Braves at Triple-A Gwinnett, posting a respectable .731 OPS with eight homers and four steals in 481 plate appearances. The 31-year-old journeyman infielder last appeared in the majors during the 2020 campaign with the White Sox.
  • 2nd Baseman #83
Braves reassigned INF Yolmer Sanchez, LHP Danny Young and Cs Ryan Casteel and Joe Hudson to minor league camp.
In total, the Braves sent out nine players from big league camp on Monday, with five others getting optioned to Triple-A. Sanchez, 30, really struggled in Grapefruit League action -- hitting just .069 (2-for-29) with zero RBI and one swipe. He’ll function as infield depth at the Triple-A level.

  • 2nd Baseman #83
Braves signed 2B Yolmer Sanchez to minor league contract.
Sanchez got into 17 contests last season between the Red Sox and Mets, tallying just four hits in 37 at-bats. The 30-year-old infielder gives the Braves some additional organizational infield depth. He’s a career .243/.299/.355 hitter with 32 homers and 30 steals in 2,503 plate appearances in the majors since 2014. He could wind up making it to Atlanta sometime this season.

  • 2nd Baseman #83
Yolmer Sánchez has elected free agency.
The 30-year-old infielder wound up appearing in 17 games between the Red Sox and Mets during the 2022 campaign, hitting a woeful .108/.214/.108 with a 13/5 K/BB ratio in 44 plate appearances. He’ll try to latch on elsewhere as a depth piece on a minor league contract over the offseason.

  • 2nd Baseman #83
Mets sent INF Yolmer Sánchez outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
Sánchez was designated for assignment on Saturday and ultimately passed through waivers unclaimed. He’ll remain part of the Mets organization for now but seems doubtful to get another look before the end of the year.

  • 2nd Baseman #83
Mets designated INF Yolmer Sánchez for assignment.
Sanchez was a recent addition to the Mets after claiming him off waivers from the Red Sox on August 18. The 30-year-old never made his debut with New York and will look to land on another big league roster.

  • 2nd Baseman #83
Mets claimed INF Yolmer Sánchez off waivers from the Red Sox.
Sánchez was designated for assignment by Boston on Tuesday after going just 4-for-37 (.108) in 14 games played. He’ll give the Mets a little extra organizational infield depth as they work through some injuries.
