Red Sox reassigned RHP Wyatt Mills to minor league camp.
Mills hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2022 season and is still working his way back after undergoing Tommy John surgery in July, 2023. The 30-year-old righty will open the regular season back at Triple-A Worcester as extra organizational relief depth.

Red Sox re-signed RHP Wyatt Mills to a two-year minor league contract.
Mills is back with the Red Sox after he was cut from the team’s 40-man roster earlier this month. The 28-year-old was acquired last offseason from the Royals in exchange for reliever Jacob Wallace. The right-hander didn’t pitch at all in 2023 and underwent Tommy John surgery in July so he is unlikely to contribute to the team until the second half of the season.

Red Sox non-tendered RHP Wyatt Mills.
Mills underwent Tommy John in July, so he’ll miss most or all of next year. He could be re-signed to a minor league contract.
  • BOS Center Fielder #16
Red Sox activated OF Jarren Duran and RHP Wyatt Mills from the 60-day injured list.
Duran, 27, had his breakout 2023 campaign cut short when he underwent season-ending surgery in late August to repair a flexor tendon in his big toe. He finished the year hitting .295/.346/.582 with eight homers, 40 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 362 plate appearances during his 102 games. As long as he’s healthy, he should open the 2024 season as the team’s starting center fielder where he’ll once again represent a solid all-around option from a fantasy perspective.

Wyatt Mills underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.
Mills was acquired last offseason from the Royals and didn’t end up throwing a pitch this season for the Red Sox. The 28-year-old righty suffered an elbow injury during spring training and dealt with several setbacks before ultimately requiring surgery. Given the timing of the procedure, he likely won’t return until the second half of the 2024 campaign.

Wyatt Mills (elbow) is likely to begin a minor league rehab assignment in late May.
Mills has been out since spring training due to right elbow inflammation and there haven’t really been any updates since. Nothing definitive on when he’ll start a rehab assignment, but it sounds like he could be ready to go in a few days.

Red Sox transferred RHP Wyatt Mills from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move opens up a spot on the Red Sox’ 40-man roster for Jake Faria to join the Red Sox bullpen. The 28-year-old has been out since late March due to right elbow inflammation, and there’s no timetable for his return yet.

Wyatt Mills (elbow) resumed throwing on Monday.
Mills has progressed to playing catch from a distance of roughly 60 feet. The 28-year-old righty reliever has been out since late March due to right elbow inflammation. He’s a long ways off from making his Boston debut at this point and there’s no timetable for his return yet.

Wyatt Mills (elbow) hasn’t resumed a throwing program.
Not good. Mills isn’t progressing as the Red Sox hoped after being shut down from throwing back in late March due to right elbow inflammation. He remains complete shut down and without a timetable to return.

Red Sox placed RHP Wyatt Mills on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 27, with right elbow inflammation.
Mills began experiencing some symptoms last week, which effectively ruled him out for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen. He’ll likely go on a rehab assignment before the Red Sox decide what to do with him.
