Marlins sent LHP Woo-Suk Go outright to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Go went unclaimed after being designated for assignment. The 25-year-old is just organizational depth at this stage in his career.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #21
Marlins designated LHP Woo-Suk Go for assignment
The 25-year-old was traded to the Marlins from the Padres in early May after posting a 4.38 ERA and 15/4 K/BB over 10 appearances for Double-A San Antonio. He had a 3.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in nine innings at Triple-A for the Marlins. It hasn’t been the best start to his MLB career, but another team will likely give him a shot.

Marlins acquired RHP Shaun Anderson from the Rangers for cash.
Anderson was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Sunday to make room for Gerson Garabito after Garabito had his contract selected to start against the Twins. The 29-year-old made four starts in Triple-A this season, posting a 2.53 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 21 1/3 innings with 22 strikeouts and four walks. He made two relief appearances with the Rangers this year and could operate in a swing role for Miami. Woo-Suk Go was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Go, 25, will join the Marlins after posting a 4.38 ERA and 15/4 K/BB over 10 appearances for Double-A San Antonio. The 25-year-old could very easily be a part of the Miami bullpen before the summer comes to a close, but likely not in a role that creates fantasy significance.
  • SD Outfielder
Craig Mish of Sportsgrid reports that the Marlins will receive Dillon Head, Woo Suk-Go and Nathan Martorella from the Padres in return for Luis Arraez.
Head is the prize for the Marlins in the trade. The 19-year-old outfielder was the Padres’ first-round selection (25th overall) from the 2023 draft. He’s at least a couple of years away from helping out at the big league level but projects as an impact five-category contributor. Suk-Go should immediately step in and help in the big league bullpen. It’s unusual to see a team wave the white flag on the season in the first week of May, but nothing that the Marlins do should be that surprising anymore.
