William Contreras finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk and a steal Monday in the Brewers’ 5-4 victory over the Orioles.
Contreras seems to have overcome the fractured finger that appeared to be limiting his production. All four of his balls in play tonight were hit at least 100 mph. He has nine hits, including four doubles, in the Brewers’ last five games, pushing his OPS back up to .741.

William Contreras went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and four runs scored versus the Guardians on Wednesday.
It’s the first time in his career that he’s scored four runs. Contreras’s exit velocity numbers have been off as he plays through a fractured finger, but he had three hard-hit balls today and all of them found grass. He came into the day with a .128/.209/.205 line this month.

William Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Rays on Sunday.
Contreras continues to play through a fractured left middle finger. While his production this season has waned compared to last season, he seemed healthy enough on Sunday as he crushed his fourth home run of the year against the Rays. Contreras is hitting just .237 with 21 RBI and a .691 OPS this year, but perhaps Sunday’s performance will spark a power surge for the 27-year-old backstop.

William Contreras (finger) is in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Rays.
It’s a positive development for fantasy managers that Contreras appears poised to continue playing through a fractured left middle finger without requiring a trip to the injured list. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI on Friday in his return to the lineup following a brief one-game absence. It’s an open question whether the lingering issue will adversely impact his on-field performance. The 27-year-old slugging backstop is hitting just .174 (4-for-23) over his last seven games. He deserves a ton of credit for his toughness, but fantasy managers should keep a close eye on his numbers in the coming weeks.

William Contreras (finger) returned to the Brewers’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Rays.
The hard-hitting backstop has been playing through a fractured middle finger on his catching hand since last year and will continue to do so until it negatively impacts his performance on the field. He may need an occasional day or two off though on days where the injury is especially painful. He’s back behind the dish and batting third for the Brewers against Zack Littell and the Rays on Friday night.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters he anticipates William Contreras (finger) returning for Friday’s series opener against the Rays.
Contreras was diagnosed with a fractured left middle finger, which he has been playing through for “some time.” The lingering issue hasn’t impacted his on-field performance yet, but it could become problematic if he’s unable to grip a bat or properly close his glove while catching. He received an injection on Wednesday to address the pain and inflammation. Fantasy managers shouldn’t anticipate the 27-year-old slugging backstop missing any time, but it’s an injury situation he’ll need to manage moving forward.

William Contreras is playing with a fractured middle finger on his catching hand.
Contreras had X-rays last night, which revealed the fracture. It is reportedly an old fracture that “has bothered him for some time.” Contreras has played through it and will continue to do so. However, his catching hand is also the lead hand for his swing, so the fracture may be impacting some of his quality of contact. His barrel rate is just 3.1 percent on the season, and his average exit velocity is down almost three mph while posting a career-low hard hit rate. His bat speed has also fallen, with him ranking in the 65th percentile with an average bat speed of 72.8 mph after posting a 74.7 mph mark last year.

William Contreras will undergo X-rays on his left finger.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Contreras has been playing through a painful left finger injury, which has been bothering him for a while. It doesn’t sound like there’s any chance of Contreras facing an extended absence, but the club doesn’t want to keep ignoring the issue. There should be an update on his status at some point prior to Wednesday’s series finale against the Astros.

William Contreras went 0-for-4 on Thursday to snap a nine-game hitting streak.
Contreras had 11 singles and no extra-base hits during the streak. Power has been an issue here this season. He has three homers and two doubles, but they all came in a six-game stretch in Colorado and Arizona from April 8-13. He had no extra-base hits in his first nine games and now has gone 15 straight games without one.

William Contreras went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in a 6-4 win over the White Sox on Wednesday.
Evan in a month where Contreras didn’t exactly live up to his lofty expectations, the approach never changed. With two free passes, he’s drawn two walks in back-to-back games, and his on-base percentage is a very healthy .376 over the first 30 games of 2025. He’s also hit a decent .260 in that timeframe, but fantasy managers are still waiting to see some pop from Contreras on a more consistent basis with just three five -base hits over 107 at-bats. The pop should start showing up, as he’s far too talented a hitter to be slugging just .365 for much longer.
