Phillies activated OF Austin Hays from the 10-day injured list.
Hays is back after missing five weeks with a kidney infection. Weston Wilson has cooled off of late, but the Phillies decided to keep him and demote Cal Stevenson, giving them three right-handed outfielders, along with Johan Rojas, for two spots in games against lefties. Just one of them will play alongside Brandon Marsh against righties, and it looks like Rojas’s defense might give him the upper hand for now.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm (hand) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Braves.
Bohm will sit out his second straight contest on Saturday evening after being held out of Friday’s lineup following an early exit from Thursday’s game agains the Braves due to left hand discomfort. X-rays came back negative so it doesn’t appear that he’s dealing with anything too serious. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Weston Wilson at the hot corner in his absence.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Phillies activated INF/OF Weston Wilson from the paternity list.
The 29-year-old missed three days and will now come back to his regular role as a starter against left-handed pitching. Congrats to Weston and his growing family. Buddy Kennedy was optioned in a corresponding move.
  • PHI Third Baseman #40
Phillies recalled INF Buddy Kennedy from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
With Weston Wilson going on the Paternity list, Kennedy will serve as a bench bat for the Phillies over the next few days. The 25-year-old was acquired from the Tigers back in June and is hitting .313/.415/.543 with nine home runs and 39 RBIs in 56 Triple-A games for the Phillies.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Phillies placed INF/OF Weston Wilson on Paternity List.
Wilson is a regular starter for the Phillies against left-handed pitching, but the team isn’t set to face a left-hander until Saturday, so it’s possible his absence won’t lead to any missed playing time. Buddy Kennedy was called up from Triple-A to take his spot on the active roster.
  • PHI Third Baseman #28
Alec Bohm is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Braves.
It’s a rare night off for Bohm after his 36-game on-base streak, the second-longest in franchise history since Odubel Herrera’s 41-gamer back in 2018, came to an end on Wednesday night when he went 0-for-4 against Atlanta. It’ll be Weston Wilson at the hot corner in his absence.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Weston Wilson went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 3-2 win over the Braves on Wednesday.
Wilson has provided a recent spark as the rest of the Phillies’ lineup has faded. He came around to score the go-ahead run after his eighth inning double and has nine hits in his last four starts. Yet, he’s nothing more than a spot-starter as of now.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Weston Wilson hit for the cycle on Thursday, going 4-for-5 with a solo homer in a lopsided win over the Nationals.
It’s the 10th cycle in Phillies history, if you care about that sort of thing, which carries zero impact for fantasy purposes. It’s still a pretty cool accomplishment and made for a memorable evening for Wilson, who has played sparingly for Philadelphia this season. The 29-year-old capped off the four-hit effort with an eighth-inning double after launching his third big fly of the season in the previous frame.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Phillies recalled INF Weston Wilson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Weston is the replacement for Whit Merrifield, who was released. He was hitting .240 with 18 home runs and 55 RBI at Triple-A. The versatile infielder will have until the trade deadline to prove he’s capable of handling a bench role.
  • PHI Third Baseman #37
Phillies optioned INF/OF Weston Wilson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Wilson heads back to the minors ahead of Saturday’s game against the Orioles with Brandon Marsh returning from the injured list. The 29-year-old has gotten into a pair of games this season for the Phillies going 0-for-4 at the dish.
