    Guardians released RHP Wes Parsons.
Parson passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment last Friday and is now free to sign elsewhere. The 31-year-old journeyman made four relief appearances for Cleveland after being acquired from the Blue Jays back in mid-April.

Guardians designated RHP Wes Parsons for assignment.
Parsons was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for the newly acquired Spencer Howard. Parsons had a 6.00 ERA in four appearances with Cleveland this season. The club has seven days to trade Parsons or place him on waivers.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #47
Guardians optioned RHP Wes Parsons to Triple-A Columbus.
The 30-year-old right-hander is heading back to the minors after getting the call up for just one day to fill the 27th roster spot for Cleveland during its doubleheader on Wednesday.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #47
Guardians recalled RHP Wes Parsons from Triple-A Columbus.
The 31-year-old hurler had served as the 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees, and he’ll rejoin the bullpen with Eli Morgan (shoulder) heading to the injured list. Parsons has made one appearance with the Guardians this season, striking out a pair of batters over two scoreless innings.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #46
Wes Parsons will serve as the Guardians’ 27th man for the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Yankees.
Parsons was acquired earlier this week from the Blue Jays in a small trade and will give Cleveland’s bullpen some extra long relief depth for the second contest of Saturday’s twin bill against New York.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #46
Blue Jays acquired RHP Wes Parsons from Guardians in exchange for international bonus pool money.
Parson was designated for assignment last week by Toronto, but we’ll now be a part of Cleveland’s organization and head to Triple-A Columbus. The 31-year-old reliever made two appearances with the Blue Jays this season and allowed six earned runs (two homers) on six hits in just five innings of work.

Blue Jays designated RHP Wes Parsons for assignment.
Parsons, 31, has only appeared in three major league games over the past two seasons with Toronto. In those appearances he’s made two starts and posts a 15.0 ERA allowing 16 hits and four homers in just nine innings pitched. Prior to joining the Blue Jays in 2023, Parsons spent two seasons playing in Korea.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #34
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Ricky Tiedemann, Yariel Rodriguez, Wes Parson, Mitch White and Paolo Espino are options for the season-opening roster if Kevin Gausman (shoulder) isn’t ready.
Gausman’s health coming out of Monday’s scheduled start, which will either be a Grapefruit League or minor league outing, will determine whether he’ll be on the Opening Day roster. The 33-year-old veteran righty is expected to throw roughly 60-65 pitches in his next outing as he continues to build up his workload and stamina. Of that group, Tiedemann would be the most interesting as a brief stopgap, but it’ll likely only be a short stay in the majors with Gausman seemingly close to being ready to return already.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #18
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters Saturday that Wes Parsons is an potential option as either a traditional starter or bulk reliever.
Parsons appears almost certain to make Toronto’s season-opening roster as a versatile swingman thanks to his flexibility. He provides the Blue Jays with some extra insurance behind likely fifth starter Bowden Francis, who has shown some promise, but is unproven in a starting role.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #18
Blue Jays selected the contract of RHP Wes Parsons from Triple-A Buffalo.
The 31-year-old posted a 4.52 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 98/45 K/BB ratio across 81 2/3 innings with Triple-A Buffalo and will take the ball for Toronto on Sunday. It will be his first appearance in the majors since 2019 with Colorado.
