Pirates re-signed RHP Wei-Chieh Huang to a minor league contract.
Huang was picked up from the Giants in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 Draft last offseason and went on to post a serviceable 3.99 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 101/32 K/BB ratio across 79 innings (27 appearances, 16 starts) in Pittsburgh’s system. The 30-year-old righty made four relief appearances for the Rangers back in 2019.

Giants reassigned RHPs Sam Delaplane, Matt Carasiti, Raynel Espinal, Wei-Chieh Huang, Mauricio Llovera and LHP Enmanuel De Jesús to minor league camp.
The Giants have 43 players remaining in major-league camp after their latest batch of cuts. Delaplane is the most prominent name of the group and has been throwing bullpen sessions twice per week as he continues to recover from Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery. He could be back in the Giants’ bullpen in the second half of the season.

Giants signed RHP Wei-Chieh Huang to a minor league contract.
Huang did not pitch at any level of MLB-affiliated ball in 2020 or 2021, but he’s looked sharp during a recent run with Estrellas de Oriente in the Dominican Winter League. The 28-year-old native of Taiwan projects as minor league relief depth for the Giants in 2022.

Huang was re-signed by the Rangers after being non-tendered by the club in December. The right-hander posted a 3.18 ERA in just 5 2/3 innings in 2019 for the club. He’s free to join another club, but is likely to see limited options over these final two months.

Rangers re-signed RHP Wei-Chieh Huang to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Huang was non-tendered by the Rangers earlier this week. He’ll be back to contend for a bullpen spot in spring training, but he’ll likely head to Triple-A to open the season.

The 26-year-old hurler appeared in just four games for the Rangers in 2019, posting a 3.18 ERA, 2.29 WHIP and 2/5 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 innings. He’s likely to have to settle for a minor league contract this winter.

Rangers optioned RHP Wei-Chieh Huang to Triple-A Nashville.
Huang gets sent down to make room for Jeffrey Springs, who is coming up in a corresponding move. Huang likely will be back up at some point this year, but unless he’s in a starting role, there won’t be many fantasy significant moments. It’s questionable even if he is starting.

Rangers recalled RHP Wei-Chieh Huang from Triple-A Nashville.
He’s filling the roster spot vacated by closer Shawn Kelley, who is headed to the injured list with an unspecified infection. Huang scattered four hits and two runs (one earned) over 3 1/3 innings in an earlier stint with Texas. The 25-year-old Taiwan native should work in middle relief.
