Tyson Ross (elbow, neck) has begun to throw off a mound at the Tigers’ spring training complex.
“He’s in Lakeland and he pitched off the mound once, a couple of days ago,” Tigers head trainer Doug Teter told the Detroit News on Sunday. “He’s been feeling good long-tossing and doing things like that.” Ross originally hit the IL back on May 12 with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow and then came down with a neck issue in June. There is still no timetable for his return to the Tigers’ active roster.

Tyson Ross will throw a bullpen session on Thursday.
It’ll be the first time he’ll be able to throw off the mound after he was placed on the injured list with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow on May 12. He’ll likely need to make a couple of bullpen sessions, but if there are no setbacks, he could be sent out on a rehab assignment shortly after. We should have an update on his status after the bullpen on Thursday.
