Mets optioned RHP Tyler Zuber to Triple-A Syracuse.
With the move, the Mets are now down to 43 players remaining on the big league side of camp. Zuber, 29, pitched very well in Grapefruit League competition, registering a minuscule 1.17 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and a 6/4 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 frames. He should get an opportunity to work out of the Mets’ bullpen at some point during the 2025 campaign.

RHP Tyler Zuber left Sunday’s game after he was hit by a ground ball.
Zuber was hit in the back by a comebacker in the sixth inning of Sunday’s game and left after an extended mound visit with his manager as well as team trainers. It doesn’t appear that the 29-year-old right-hander suffered a significant injury. Provided health, Zuber will continue to compete for a spot in the Mets’ bullpen this spring.

Mets optioned RHP Tyler Zuber to Triple-A Syracuse.

Mets acquired RHP Tyler Zuber from the Rays for RHP Paul Gervase
Zuber is a side-armer who signed a minor league deal with the Rays back in mid-May following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. He has allowed one run in 3 1/3 innings for the Rays in 2024 after not having appeared in the big leagues since making 54 relief appearances for the Royals from 2020-2021. He’ll add a little more depth to the Mets bullpen.

Zuber was just optioned out on Tuesday, but he’ll head right back to join the big-league bullpen after Randy Arozarena was dealt away to the Mariners on Thursday night. Expect that the 29-year-old hurler will be utilized in the middle innings by manager Kevin Cash.

Zuber, 29, was added to the 40-man roster on July 18, and now he’ll get a chance to make his season debut a few days later. He’ll be a bullpen option for the Rays, but he will replace Ryan Pepiot on the active roster after Pepiot was placed on the injured list with a knee infection.

Rays selected the contract of RHP Tyler Zuber from Triple-A Durham.
Zuber has been officially added to Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster, but will remain stationed at Triple-A Durham for now as emergency relief depth. The 29-year-old side-winder inked a minor league deal with the Rays back in mid-May following a stint with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. He hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since making 54 relief appearances for the Royals from 2020-2021.

Rays signed RHP Tyler Zuber to a minor-league contract.
Zuber, 28, was signed from the Long Island Ducks of the Independent League. The right-hander was a member of the Guardians during spring training, but he failed to make the team after a shaky showing in the Cactus League. Zuber provides organizational depth for the remainder of 2024, and he’ll need to be added to the 40-man roster in order to pitch in the majors this season.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #52
Guardians signed RHP Tyler Zuber to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
